So You Think You Can Dance Recap 6/1/15- Season 12 Premiere
“So You Think You Can Dance” is back for a twelfth season and things are definitely shaking up. You can keep up with “So You Think You Can Dance” here.
“American Idol” may only have one season left but we SYTYCD fans can be super excited as the show has snagged “Idol” alum Paula Abdul to be one of the judges. You may remember how she shook her tail feather back in the eighties/early nineties to songs like “Opposites Attract” and “Straight Up.” This is the perfect fit for her and as we all know, she usually says and does almost anything. It will be great to watch her. Joining her this season is Jason Derulo, who will make a great addition because he’s young, fun and has the moves. Along with Nigel Lythgowe, this is about to be a whole new show. Oh, and we cannot forget hostess with the mostess Cat Deeley who is also returning.
On the season twelve premiere, the first round of auditions take us down South to Memphis and Dallas. At the same time, there will be an interview with First Lady Michelle Obama, whom we hear is a super fan. There is a twist on the new season though that may change the entire game as we know it. Two teams will be equally divided and formed and from there, one team will be assigned “stage” dancing while the other will be “street” dancers. Someone will be eliminated every week and auditions began in late January. The hope with the show is that by keeping it as a summer series, it will keep doing well but we shall see. Are you excited to see Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo judging? Would you have picked other people or is this going to be a great fit? I think that Paula will just be amazing, if only for her reactions.

So, when it us time to audition, the dancers will decided which team they want to dance for. They are starting in Memphis where we meet Payton who is 18 and auditioning for stage dancing. Paula loves his technique and thinks that he has it all; Jason believes that he wakes the audience up; Nigel is hopeful that he can transform himself into an even better dancer. He’s off to Vegas.
