Holly Madison Talks Suicide In the Playboy Mansion!
A lot of crazy and out of control things happen at the Playboy Mansion but now founder Hugh Hefner’s ex- number one girl Holly Madison is confirming the insanity and how it almost killed her. Madison was one of seven girlfriends along with Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson Baskett. She then became the number one girlfriend, affectionately referring to Hef as “Puffin.” The three girlfriends along with the Playboy mogul went on to film five seasons of the hit E! reality series, “The Girls Next Door.” Though the show lasted for an additional sixth season, Hef had three new girlfriends and Holly, Bridget and Kendra were just featured on the side. He went on to marry one of them, Crystal who was deemed the runaway bride but the now 89-year old did not seem to be fazed.
Bridget has not had one bad thing to say about her time at the mansion as she went on to film “Bridget’s Beaches” and start a collection on etsy.com. Kendra, who is now starring on “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars,” was more candid in her tell-alls by revealing that each girl took turns having sex with Hef but it was very quick and she was usually under the influence. Now, Holly is releasing her memoir “Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny” and it becomes even more clear that life in the mansion is not a dream come true. It got so bad that at one point, Madison, now mother to two-year old Rainbow with husband Pasquale Rotella, contemplated drowning herself.
In 2002, she reveals that her mentality became:“If I just put my head under water and take a deep breath in, it would all be over.” The thirty-five year old, who also dated Criss Angel, went on to add: “Would anyone even miss me? Maybe it was the pot and the alcohol, but drowning myself seemed like the logical way to escape the ridiculous life I was leading.” What stopped Madison was the thought that she had this crazy good story to share but if she died, no one would get to read it. As for her family, who we saw occasionally on the show, Holly says that: “I just couldn’t take my misery anymore. Of course my family would be devastated, but I rarely saw them enough for my absence to make a difference.”
Now that she is a mother, she seems to have found her peace, living and performing in Las Vegas, while still maintaining a relationship with Bridget, though neither speak to Kendra anymore. It also seems that she is more than happy that the IVF she tried with Hef towards the end of their relationship did not take. So, will you be buying this book June 23rd to see what really happened behind the Mansion Gates in Holmby Hills? Let us know.
