Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner Deny ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Snub
Kim Kardashian and her momager, Kris Jenner are denying that they snubbed the families of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Jenn Quinn posted on Facebook that she was shocked over what she deemed, “the lack of caring and engagement,” from Kim and Kris.
The post was picked up by US Magazine who spoke with Julie Frates, wife of ALS ice Bucket Challenge founder Peter Frates. In their exclusive, the magazine quoted Julie first as questioning, “Maybe they didn’t realize?!” She credited the pregnant wife of Kanye West with helping it go as big as it went adding that it was a chance to “tell them how appreciative we are for them doing the challenge,” but, “it didn’t go down how I thought it would go down!” While she claimed she wasn’t looking to bash Kim and her famous momager, the story took off with many calling shame shame on Kim and Kris.
Frates, whose husband Peter suffers from AlS, is in Cannes with Quinn promoting the Ice Bucket Challenge which will be returning this summer. She told US Weekly she was hoping to ask the reality star to get involved again. Kim famously took the challenge on Ellen, the popular talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.
While Frates claims that Kim was standing in the middle of the Celine store trying on a fox fur, the reality star and her mom are being defended by eyewitnesses who told TMZ, in an exclusive, that there was no snub and that Kim was being bombarded. The witnesses are calling BS on the whole story saying that Kim was being hounded so badly that people were even banging on her dressing room door while she was naked with requests to pose for pictures. Frates and Quinn were not being accused of that though the scene the witnesses describe seems more chaotic than the one being depicted in the so-called snub story.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, through sources, let it be known that she supports the cause fully and would have loved to have talked to the women, had she known they were there. As far as Kris Jenner’s reported comment, “oh fun,” her side is claiming it was in response to being told that the women were touring Cannes and not a flip remark meant to insult the wives.
