The news was announced on today’s episode of The View. Symone has been guest hosting on the daytime talk show, following Rosie O’Donnell’s exit back in February. The delay in the “official” announcement shouldn’t come as a surprise since The View has been floundering with the ratings dropping over the past couple of years.

The talk show tried to overhaul the show firing Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd last year and replacing them with Rosie Perez, Nicolle Wallace and Rosie O’Donnell. It was Rosie’s second time co-hosting the show, following her dramatic exit several years ago after she and Elisabeth Hasselbeck got into an argument on the show. Rosie announced in February that she would be leaving the show, citing stress as the cause. She also announced at the time she and her second wife, Michelle Rounds were getting divorced.

Raven Symone, best known for her role as the adorable Rudi on The Cosby Show before starring on the comedy series, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. She was also the voice of Monique on Kim Possible and a singer in the now defunct band The Cheetah Girls.

What do you think about Raven Symone as a new co-host of The View?
