WNBA Star Glory Johnson Expecting Twins Amidst Annulment
Glory Johnson and wife Brittney Griner seemed to have it all. Successful careers as WNBA players, a lovely wedding and then the announcement that Johnson was pregnant. But within the time the pregnancy was announced, an annulment was filed by Griner after less than a month as a married couple. It was very confusing because on Instagram, they would post photos of baby excitement and literally within hours, that was shattered. Now, Glory has announced via Instagram, once again that she is expecting not just one but two babies! Often typical with IVF, the twenty-four year old, who cannot play due to the pregnancy, is elated about this revelation. As for Brittney, she has yet to say anything about the expecting twins.
Glory is nine weeks along with her babies, which Griner has no biological attachment to whatsoever. Though Griner claims that she was pressured into having a baby, Johnson disputed that in a statement, saying: “At no stage was Brittney pressured to undertake the fertility process. In fact, throughout the entire process, Brittney was a willing participant, consenting and signing all the necessary documents that needed to be signed in order to move forward with the treatments.” But what was the cause for the annulment to begin with? Griner claimed to ESPN that the marriage was a “huge mistake.”
She went on to add: “Prior to us getting married, I knew I didn’t want to. I shouldn’t have went through with it. You know, sometimes you feel pressured into things, and I went along with it. And I know I shouldn’t have. It was a huge mistake. I just knew it was a mistake.” The two had been arrested on domestic violence charges prior to their wedding but again, they went through with it. There is no word if the women know who the father is or if Griner will have any relationship with the twins. We will just have to wait and see what happens but for the twin’s sake, I hope that this can all be resolved sooner rather than later.
