You can call Zoe Saldana’s husband, “Mr. Saldana,” now that the actress revealed that he took her last name. Wanting to show that they are equals Marco Perego decided to go the non-traditional route and take the last name of his famous wife.

Zoe told InStyle that she was initially resistant saying, “I tried to talk him out of it,” believing he would get pounced on for the move telling him if he used her name, “you’re going to be emasculated by your community of artists, by your Latin community of men, by the world.”

He  wasn’t worried telling her, “Ah, Zoe, I don’t give a s–t.”

The Guardians of the Galaxy actress married the Italian artist in a secret ceremony two years ago,  just months after her break-up with on again/off again boyfriend Bradley Cooper.

While never naming Cooper, she stated that she had no room in her life for men who had disrespected telling a mag after the break-up, “I don’t want to be the one going, ‘I’m cool, because I’m friends with all my exes.'”

Describing her life as bliss when she met Marco she credited them both being artists with making the match so strong. Their romance was more private than what she shared with Cooper including them marrying in secret and even keeping her pregnancy quiet for as long as possible.

Their twin boys, Cy and Bowie arrived last November adding to her bliss and helping her become more relaxed in her relationship. Telling the mag, “Since I’ve been with Marco, I’ve been lowering my guard.” Believing it was in the stars she says after the birth of their sons she looked at her husband and realized, “I was meant for you and you were meant for me,” adding, “I’ve always felt comfortable around men as long as they were friends. Now I finally feel comfortable with my lover.”

Wanting no separation the actress said, “I want to live inside the religion of our own little family,” a family that goes by Saldana.
