Ariana Grande Says She Hates America and Americans After Licking Donuts
What’s up with Ariana Grande? The Nickelodeon star was caught on security footage appearing to lick donuts while an employee wasn’t looking and then saying she hates Americans and America.
In footage obtained by TMZ, Grande was visiting a donut shop with three friends. In the footage she is seen kissing one of the men. That man and Grande both appear to lick the donuts, that they hadn’t purchased, while the employee wasn’t looking. Grande laughed after the man she was seen kissing licked a donut and walked away.
The employee came back with another tray of donuts and Grande asked, “What the f— is that?” For unknown reasons she then declared, “I hate Americans,” before adding, “I hate America.”
Grande began her career in Broadway at age 13 before getting cast as Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon series Victorious. She then starred in the spinoff Sam & Cat becoming a teen sensation. While acting she also began her singing career. Her first album Yours Truly debuted at number one on the US Billboard charts. Her lead single The Way became a top ten hit.
She won New Artist of the Year at the 2013 American Music Awards, Best Pop Video at the MTV Awards as well as a few for Best Song and Best Female and has also been nominated for Grammys. Despite her obvious talent she has long been the subject of rumors criticizing her for behaving like a diva when meeting with reporters and even fans.
Grande responded to those rumors by posting an essay on Twitter calling out what she felt was a double standard and misogyny by the press when writing about female artists. The essay was applauded by Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, who notably have always been fan friendly.
She recently dated Big Sean for several months before they broke up. Big Sean reportedly dumped her calling her immature. She reportedly got back at him by using Justin Bieber. Bieber came up from behind her onstage and embraced her as she sang. Some reports say there was a possibility of a reconciliation but Big Sean believed that she staged that to hurt him.
Grande may believe the press is misogynist but the security footage doesn’t lie. She was born in Boca, hardly shabby, and has enjoyed a great career with a legion of fans. If she hates America and Americans so much maybe she should stop asking them to buy her music and support her career. At the very least, she should at least pay for those donuts and leave the employee a nice tip.
