Suits Recap 7/15/15 Season 5 Episode 4 “No Puedo Hacerlo”
Suits opens with Mike and Harvey meeting in the lobby of their building. Mike explains he’s on the way to meet Robert Zane because Keltan Insurance gave them a settlement offer. Harvey then spots a woman speaking to the security guard and takes off to talk to her. He begins to flirt with her in typical Harvey fashion and she flirt right back. Finally, he invites her over to his apartment for breakfast the next day. Somehow, she manages to resist his charm and heads upstairs. Little do we know she’s actually on her way to see Louis. Who just happens to be her brother.
Esther, the woman from the lobby, surprises Louis in his office. She reveals that she needs a lawyer. She’s getting divorced, but she doesn’t want Louis to represent her. In fact, she wants Harvey. Even though she has no clue she just met him in the lobby moments before. Louis refuses and makes up excuses. Because Louis is Louis and he always assumes the worst, he thinks Esther doesn’t want him as a lawyer because he isn’t good enough. That isn’t the case, though. Esther assures him it’s because it will get too personal for him and she doesn’t want that. After Esther leaves, Donna comes in to speak to Louis. He confides in her that he doesn’t think Harvey will take the case simply because the client is his sister. “If there’s one thing Harvey understands it’s [family],” Donna says.
Meanwhile, Mike is waiting in a conference room for Robert when Katrina comes in. Katrina, who hasn’t been seen since the first half of the fifth season, reveals she’s doing the grunt work on his case for Robert. She thanks Mike for her new job, but Mike says it was really Rachel who got her the job. Mike then learns he was in the wrong conference room and heads to see Robert. It’s revealed the settlement offer was for $25 million. Mike is furious with the offer and wants to counter with a trial to get a better offer. Robert insists they won’t get anything more and a trial will take the offer away. Mike, to make matters worse, says Robert wouldn’t think about taking the deal if it was Rachel involved. Bad move, Mike. Bad move. Never bring a guy’s daughter into the argument. Robert leaves but Mike stays behind to think about the deal. Katrina comes back in and Mike shares his frustrations. He says it seems like Robert doesn’t care about his clients. Katrina assures him that’s not true.
Mike then goes back to Robert’s office and says he still wants to try and counter, but with Robert by his side because he doesn’t stand a chance without him. “We don’t stand a chance either way,” Robert says, but eventually concedes to Mike and agrees to meet with Keltan again.
Louis is waiting in Harvey’s office when he gets back. Louis says he is giving him a $50 million company – his sister’s. Harvey refuses and ells him to get out. Louis then takes Donna’s advice and explains that this is his family and he can’t let her down. Harvey eventually caves and agrees to take the case on two conditions: Louis stays out of case and one other favor to be determined later. Louis, in turn, makes him promise not to sleep with her.
Harvey and Rachel are on their way to meet Esther for the first time. Rachel is impressed with her company, but Harvey wants to get it over with as quickly as possible. They walk into the conference room and sees Esther. Harvey’s charm knob is turned all the way up.
Louis walks by the conference room “hiding” behind a folder. Esther sees him before he ducks into the office boarding the conference room. He presses himself up against the wall attempting to listen when Donna walks in. She chastises him for his behavior and promises that Harvey can handle it. “It would be easier for both of us if you were wrong once in a while,” Louis said. But then Donna wouldn’t be Donna, would she?
