“I Am Cait” has become the docu-series that you must watch this summer, if just to open your minds and hearts up some more to transgender issues. It is not an easy life and at sixty-five, Caitlyn Jenner is proving that the transition is even greater than one would expect. You can keep up with the series premiere of “I Am Cait” right here.

In the series premiere, we officially met Caitlyn Jenner, aka the former gold medal Olympian Bruce Jenner. She has now transitioned and is living solely as a woman. For the first time, her two sisters Pamela and Lisa as well as mother Esther were going to meet their new sister/daughter. Pronouns were hard for Esther as she had always referred to Cait as “him” and now she had to learn that this was her daughter, a “she.” Caitlyn hired a specialist to come over to answer all the questions that her family may have had about being transgender and adjusting to the new lifestyle. Youngest daughter, Kylie had yet to meet Caitlyn but decided to Facetime her when she in the doctor’s office.

Fortunately, Kylie had just had oral surgery so she was not aware enough to see her dad as a woman. Eventually, Kylie came by the house and a stylist helped put teal extensions from Kylie’s line into Caitlyn’s hair. It was really sweet and Kanye and Kim even stopped by to say hi. Towards the end, Caitlyn saw on the news that a transgender teen had committed suicide and that just killed her inside because she believes her purpose is to open minds and doors. She decided to phone the family and go meet with them as well as participate in a balloon ceremony in the teen’s honor. I think Caitlyn looks great but I also think maybe she could have been true to herself a little bit sooner (just my opinion).

Tonight, in part one of two, Cait is thrilled to be on a road trip with a group of her new transgender friends, but they question if her privileged status hinders her from becoming their spokesperson.

Keep reading to see what happens when she takes it on the road.
