Celebs React to the Break-up Of Miss Piggy and Kermit; Everyone Devastated
Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog have called it quits today and this is just too much. It comes on the heels of Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani announcing that they were divorcing after thirteen years of marriage. How much of this can we take Hollywood? Even a One Direction-er broke off his engagement so this is some sort of epidemic. Miss Piggy and Kermit of “The Muppets” are set to return to nightly television in the Fall but this comes as a huge blow to fans of the couple. It was Piggy who made the announcement via social media that she and her “Kermie” had called it quits.
Here is the statement that the former lovebirds released earlier today: “Miss Piggy made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship … our personal lives are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al. This is our only comment on this private matter.” People Magazine is convinced that there was a third party involved and broke it all down by showing the Swedish Chef, Gonzo, Janice (the androgynous muppet) and more. They think someone cheated but maybe Miss Piggy wants a new love like Ben Affleck or Kermit is into Gwen Stefani or Miranda Lambert. As this is happening, Hollywood is grieving the break-up and they are being quite vocal about it.
Dr. Ruth Westheimer had this to say:” Seems Miss Piggy and Kermit have broken up. Someone let them know my office doors are always open to them!” Marc Jacobs posted a photo with Miss Piggy on Twitter with the caption: “Saddened over the news of Kermit & Miss Piggy splitting up. Retail therapy is real…” Alan Cumming questioned the split on his Twitter with this: “I’m actually really sad that Miss Piggy and Kermit have split up. Hoping it’s just a publicity gimmick for the new Muppets show.” And Emmy Rossum proposed that Miss Piggy become the new Bachelorette. That would be so awesome.
Clearly, we wish them all the best and will keep you updated on more news as it comes in.
*Miss Piggy is responding to Twitter tweets and has said that this is not a publicity stunt and that Alan Cumming should alert his single friends.
