Kathie Lee Gifford Says Husband Frank’s Death is Not a Tragedy – His Life Was a Triumph
In the wake of the shocking news of the death of Frank Gifford, the football legend and husband of morning talk show host, Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Kathie Lee’s co-host on the fourth hour of The Today Show, is revealing how Kathie Lee is doing and what she had to say about her sudden loss of her husband of almost 30 years.
Hoda appeared on The Today Show, fighting back tears, where she revealed a conversation she had with Kathie Lee yesterday at her home. She said Kathie Lee is doing her best to stay positive. Gifford said to Hoda,
“‘This is not a tragedy. A 4-year-old girl having cancer is a tragedy…His life is a triumph.”
Regis Philbin, who worked with Kathie Lee Gifford for years on their morning talk show revealed he and his wife Joy had just had dinner with the Giffords the week before at their Connecticut home and Frank looked terrific. “Handsome, smiling, laughing…it was a great night.”
Kathie Lee and her children released a statement following the news of Frank Gifford’s death saying,
“We rejoice in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live, and we feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an amazing human being. We ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we thank you for your prayers.”
Despite asking for privacy, Kathie Lee took to Twitter to thank her fans for all their support saying,
“Deeply grateful to all 4 ur outpouring of grace. We r steadfast in our faith & finding comfort in knowing where Frank is. Phillippians 4:13.”
The Today Show gave an amazing dedication to Frank Gifford and Hoda will be speaking about him during the fourth hour of the show.
