George Clooney Talks About Wife Amal on Stephen Colbert and Makes a Movie Just for Colbert
George Clooney made history on Monday, September 8, 2015 when he was the first guest on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Stephen Colbert replaced David Letterman as the host of The Late Show after more than years as the host of the hit late night show. The announcement was made last year and its been a long time coming with the opening show finally arriving with actor George Clooney and politician, Jeb Bush appearing on the show.
Colbert asked the hard hitting questions to Clooney, like what is it like to be the arm candy in the relationship with his wife, Amal. Stephen said:
“What is it like to be the arm candy in a relationship, because she’s the very serious person?’
‘She must say like, “We’re going to meet extremely intelligent people tonight – these are not show folk. Just be shiny and pretty.”‘
George laughed and said, ‘That’s mostly what I do.”
George joked around about his marriage saying, “they said it wouldn’t last.”
Clooney’s appearance on the The Late Show was extra special since he didn’t have a movie to promote. No worries though, he made a movie especially for the show called, Decision Strike, where Clooney played the Secretary General who has to find a way to stop the world from being hit by a nuclear warhead. What would a movie be without romance and even a sex scene. In one scene George is “making love to a woman” and too busy to save the planet.
The actor joked, “I did my own sex, In fact, I do all of my own stunts. I think the audience deserves it.”
Colbert gave a tribute to David Letterman, in addition to speaking to Jeb Bush about his brother, the former President of the United States, George Bush, asking him how they are different.
