Rosie O’Donnell Returning to “The View” For the Third Time
Looks like the round table at ABC’s “The View” is starting to fill up again after both Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace left the show after one season. Perez’s split seemed to be amicable while Wallace was just as stunned as we were when she found out she was fired. Nicolle spoke to Variety after news of her firing went viral; she had formerly worked on Republican campaigns and was a correspondent for MSNBC yet she was pretty even-keeled, in my opinion. According to her interview with Variety in August, Wallace explained how she found out that she would not be returning for season nineteen of the chat fest: “They never called me. The night your second story ran, they summoned my agent and told me they’d like to consider me for a contributor role, and they also made me an offer at ABC News to do the conventions and debates.”
Though she did consider sticking around, it just was not going to work for anyone: “They asked me to be on “The View” for one day a week. I felt like if it had been two days a week or enough time to have more of a presence, I’d consider it. They weren’t interested in negotiating with me. It didn’t make sense for me.” This leaves Whoopi Goldberg in the moderator chair and Raven-Symone as the newest addition and according to Radar, Rosie O’Donnell will be returning as well. Rosie has left twice before, most recently because of her health and a divorce from wife Michelle Rounds. She has also been in the news a lot lately as daughter Chelsea, 18, ran away before her birthday then opted to live with her biological mother.
Though she said that she would return when she could, we never saw her and I missed her but now a source tells RadarOnline: “Rosie is coming back for guest appearances.” They went onto add that this “has always been an unspoken plan. Her people are already working on it.” I am in complete support of her return. What do you have to say?
