The artist has worked with such talents as Katy Perry, Emmy Rossum, Nicole Richie, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Selena Gomez, just to name a few. He has been a featured artist in such amazing magazines as Vogue, Allure and Vanity Fair, which is known as the magazine where Caitlyn Jenner made her grand debut as a woman. Bailey also worked with make-up brand CoverGirl, where Perry is a spokesperson; the company released this statement upon learning of Jake’s passing: “Jake Bailey made our world a more beautiful place. Our whole CoverGirl family is heartbroken over the loss of a great artist and friend and we extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.”

E! was also a client of Jake Bailey’s and they have expressed their heartbreak, as well along with Dewan Tatum, who tweeted this message: “I am absolutely devastated today by the passing of my dear friend @ByJakeBailey. The most loyal, beautiful soul in every way. I love you (sad face emoji).” Octavia Spencer also tweeted her sympathies: “My thoughts and prayers are with those who knew and loved .” His agency released a statement to E! regarding his passing and it is truly heartbreaking: “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Jake Bailey’s passing. He was an undeniable talent, a great friend, a loving son and brother, and our grief is shared with all those whose lives he’s touched. As one of the industry’s most sought after makeup artists, Jake worked with an incredible client roster and his work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Italia, Vanity Fair, and Allure.

“He collaborated with some of the top photographers in the fashion and entertainment industries and was also a passionate photographer himself. Jake was a mentor to many, and his work will continue to inspire. He will be truly missed by those who knew him.” The L.A. County Coroner’s Office let E! know that cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning and there was supposedly a note but nothing can be confirmed until after the autopsy is performed. Katy Perry has yet to say anything regarding Bailey’s passing though they worked very closely on the CG campaigns. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who knew and loved him.
