Nashville continues with Juliette falling fast on her downward spiral. Juliette gets into a brawl with a fan that goes viral, but Jeff sees damage control as an opening for his own career. Juliette continues her drinking and has hit rock bottom now that Avery has left her. When Jeff tells her she has to sober up, she makes a pass at him and he flat out rejects her.
Jeff convinces the fan to make a public statement apologizing for her behavior. Avery confronts Jeff and asks him if Juliette is having a breakdown. Jeff says she is fine in her hotel room, but in reality she is popping pills and drinking in her room. Thanks to Jeff saving the Juliette situation, he is promoted to CEO of Luke’s record company. Jeff asks Layla to move in with him.
Maddie is grounded and misses Colt who is on tour with his dad. Since she is grounded she gets to go with Rayna to go see Markus practice. Markus butts heads with Rayna over his sound, and the two consider whether they can continue working together. Rayna needs for Markus to trust her but he just isn’t hearing it. Rayna asks her girls to sing Markus’ song but her younger daughter doesn’t want to. It turns out she overheard people talking about her after she performed last time, saying she should be embarrassed to be out there because her father is in jail.
Gunnar calls his one night stand, Erin and calls her telling her she left his earring at his house. She didn’t leave an earring there but agrees to meet him at a bar where Will is performing. Will performs but is upset when the girls in the crowd push a gay man up front. Will expresses his regret about coming out and his boyfriend breaks up with him, saying he can’t do this anymore.
Deacon pays a visit to a bar where Beverly used to perform while Scarlett stays back at the house and finds a tape of her mothers along with a rejection letter. Scarlett goes to the bar, where she hears how proud her mother was of her.
