Simon Cowell Joining America’s Got Talent as Judge – Replacing Howard Stern
Simon Cowell is back! Only he won’t be judging only music, but will be joining the judging table over at America’s Got Talent.
This will definitely shake things up on the reality television series, as Cowell is known for telling it like it is. Taking over for Howard Stern, Simon Cowell will join America’s Got Talent for the upcoming season 11.
Cowell confessed he has been discussing being a judge on the show with NBC for the past five years, but this was the first time all the stars aligned and the timing was perfect.
Cowell is best known for American Idol and The X Factor, where his honest critiques have crushed many dreams. Cowell was with American Idol for nine seasons before heading over to The X Factor where he launched superstar boy band, One Direction and the girl bands, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony. The reality show judge knows talent when he sees it.
Simon Cowell left the United States and has been living in London with his girlfriend and son. Has Cowell’s son softened the harsh judge? Simon said, “I’m not going to lie to people when I think they’re hopeless, I just couldn’t do that! But no, of course I’m not going to be rude for the sake of being rude. That would be ridiculous. I’ll take it act by act.”
If the cast remains the same for Season 11 of America’s Got Talent, Simon Cowell will be joining host, Nick Cannon, and judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Mel B., though none have been officially confirmed for Season 11 yet.
The show will be holding auditions for the upcoming season in cities including Detroit, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York, and more. For a full list of cities and dates.
