Adam Levine teams up with John Fogerty, Blake Shelton with Brad Paisley, Gwen Stefani with Selena Gomez, and Pharrell Williams with Missy Elliot.

In this phase, the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest, and has the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach. Each coach has two steals during the battle rounds where their artists will proceed to the knockout rounds.

We have the spoilers for The Voice Battle Rounds here and check out the recap for the first round of The Voice Battle Rounds here.

We will be updating the judges comments and who won the battle rounds so be sure to come back!

In the meantime – we have who will be battling and the songs they will be singing to.

Team Adam

Contestants:Cassandra Robertson vs Viktor Kiraly
Song: Nobody Knows by Kevin Sharpe
Results: Blake kicked it off saying that although there have been battles with “bigger moments” this one was the most consistent and it was the best one he’s ever seen. Pharrell said that he thinks Viktor was “awesome,” but Cassandra was doing “an effortless prance” that felt “magical and undeniable.” Gwen said she was impressed that Viktor was able to keep up with Cassandra because Cassandra is amazing. Adam’s opinion is the only one that matters here. He said he was “so, so, so proud” of both of them and that “neither one could have possibly done better,” but in the end he gave it to Viktor (which had every female in the audience freaking out with happy tears). Viktor for the WIN and Cassandra is eliminated!

Contestants: Andi & Alex vs Chance Pena
Song: Wherever You Will Go by The Calling
Results: Blake kicked it off by saying that it was amazing, and that he loved Andi & Alex because “there’s just something about singing in harmony, it’s like nothing else.” He then said that he “freaking loves” the sound of Chance’s voice and told Adam that he would choose Chance. Pharrell said the ladies did “great” but that Chance sounded “unbelievable.” Gwen said she loved the performance and if she was 15 years old she would have posters of Chance all over her locker at school so “obviously he needs to stay on the show.” Adam finished it up by saying that “the sound that is created when the three of you sing together is unreal” and said he thinks the three of them should form a group. But since only one act can move through to the next round he had to make a decision and he chose Andi and Alex.

But that’s not all folks! Blake hit his button for a steal, just beating out Gwen who was trying to hit hers. Chance Pena Goes to Team BLAKE

Team Pharrell

Contestants: Evan McKeel vs Riley Biederer
Song: “Higher Ground” by Stevie Wonder
Results: Gwen said Riley has a “really rich voice” and commented that she seemed to be having a lot of fun on stage. Adam commented that Evan pulled off the performance “unbelievably well” and said they both had “huge triumphs,” but if he had to pick he would have given it to Evan. Blake said he thinks Riley has “the type of voice he would recognize” and said it was unique. Pharrell is running the game on this one, though, and he ultimately decided to give this round to Evan. And just as she began walking off stage Gwen hit the button to make a steal for Riley. (And, adorably, Evan was completely thrilled for her… could there be a little bit of a romance going on there?!)

Team Gwen

Contestants: Braiden Sunshine vs Lyndsey Elm
Song: “No One is to Blame” by Howard Jones
Results: Adam kicked it off saying that it was “like a tennis match,” and said that Gwen really can’t go wrong with whichever decision she makes. Blake agreed, saying that he had no idea who did better because they were both great in their own way. Pharrell said that Braiden has a “very unique tone,” but he didn’t use it today and instead went to sixth gear while Lyndsey “brightened up” the song. In this case though, Gwen’s opinion is the only one that counts and she has decided that Braiden will be moving on!

Contestants:Chase Kerby vs Korin Bukowski
Song: Samson by Regina Spektor
Results: Adam said he felt that Chase fell out of his falsetto a little bit, and he would give this round to Korin. Blake said he was “mesmerized” by the performance. Ultimately only Gwen’s opinion matters though, and she chose… Korin!

Team Blake

Contestants:? Blaine Mitchell vs Blind Joe
Song: “Old Time Rock and Roll” by Bob Seger
Results: Pharrell told Blaine that he did a great job on the high notes and told Joe he didn’t expect him to be as soulful as he was. Gwen said she was impressed with Blaine because he had a lot of pressure since he was the only contestant able to work the stage, while Gwen regaled Joe with a story about her son having recently purchased a shirt that looks like Joe’s. She then asked if “that was his family over there” and pointed somewhere to the audience… and Joe pointed out that he had no idea where Gwen was pointing. Adam said he wanted to be “drunk in a bar” during this song, and said there was something “kind of drunk and unruly.” He ultimately said that he thought Blaine was the star of that Battle… and now, it comes down to Blake. He said that he was impressed with both of the contestants, but ultimately he gave the battle to Blind Joe.

And that is that! We’ll be back tomorrow at 8pm ET so be sure to check back in!
