Amy Schumer’s Monologue for Glamour Women of the Year 2015 – Talks Gun Control, Hillary Clinton and More
Amy Schumer opened Glamour’s Women of the Year 2015 Awards Show by walking out to the song, ‘Wild Thing.’ Given some of Schumer’s jokes, the song was appropriate but Amy also hit upon some serious subjects, giving us all something to think about.
The comedian opened the show by making fun of herself saying, ‘I’m national treasure, Amy Schumer.’ Amy joked about what an honor it was to be hosting the award show. She joked about being a model and thanked Cindy (Glamour’s Editor in Chief) for allowing her the opportunity to make new friends (and in some cases enemies).
Amy spoke about women’s magazines in general before declaring Glamour is one of the good ones, saying,
“They write hostile articles like “How to trick your stomach into making you think you ate that week. How to make your pu**y smell like a Christmas ornament.” But Glamour is one of the good ones. Fighting the good fight, putting true leaders and bad ass bitches on the forefront of their pages.”
Schumer touched upon a more serious subject – gun control. She spoke about stricter background checks and said, “If you’ve been convicted of domestic violence or if you’re severely mental ill, I don’t think you should be able to get a gun.” It seems obvious but for some reasons it isn’t.
The monologue was hysterical. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
