Kim Kardashian West Reveals That Her Baby Boy Is Breech- What Does That Mean For His Birth?
Kim Kardashian West has made it no secret that she and pregnancy do not work well together. In fact, she cannot wait for her second pregnancy, the one that she wanted so desperately, to come to an end. She and husband Kanye West already have a two-year-old daughter North and we are still awaiting to see what baby boy West will be named. But what we do know, aside from pregnancy being super rough, is that Kim and Kanye’s son is a breech baby, meaning he is still face up when he should have turned by now as she is thirty-two weeks along. Kim, 35, made the reveal on her website and is very open to trying other things aside from a C-section, which is what happens with most breech births. Her OB-GYN is Dr. Crane, who delivered Kim, has dealt with this issue before and has helped calm the mom-to-be just a little: “As I lay awake late at night, researching, I’ve learned that you actually can deliver a breech baby and I feel fortunate that my doctor Paul Crane is one of the few doctors that still does this. They just don’t even teach it anymore.” Would we expect anything but the best for the Kardashian-West baby boy? Definitely not though I wonder what the impact of stress has on a mom-to-be.
She has been by her sister, Khloe Kardashian’s side as she deals with her estranged husband Lamar Odom’s health crisis. Now, when Kim says that she has done her research, she means it when she added a documentary, “Heads Up,” that she watched to help prepare her: “I found it very interesting that I do have this option to deliver a breech baby as opposed to just jumping into a C-section. Obviously, if it’s an emergency and for the safety of my son, I will get a C-section — but if I don’t need one, I’d rather not.” Kim went on to say how rare a breech baby is:“ I guess 4 percent of women are faced with [breech babies] — so, lucky me! It’s been hard because I usually go to my mom or [my sister] Kourtney (Kardashian) for baby and pregnancy advice, but they both — with nine total pregnancies! — have never experienced one of these crazy things.”
The baby is already seven pounds but Kim is not giving up on turning the little boy. She is doing all that she can to try to simplify this pregnancy and to no longer stress about the breech boy. “I lay practically upside down three times a day for 15 minutes. I play music in the right position and ice my belly in certain spots to get him to squirm out of the breech position. I even started accupuncture where I burn moxa (mugwort) on my pinky toe every day! I am even attempting hypnosis!” We wish her all the luck as she prepares fro baby number two.
