Kim Kardashian West Speaks Out On Lamar Odom’s Health Journey- “You Never Know If He’ll Ever Be the Same Again”
Kim Kardashian West and mother Kris Jenner were by Khloe Kardashian’s side at the Nevada hospital where Khloe’s estranged husband Lamar Odom lay, fighting for his life. After overdosing on drugs during a weekend of partying at the Love Ranch, a legal Las Vegas brothel, Odom, 36, was rushed to the hospital and no one knew if he was going to make it. Khloe immediately was by his bedside and remained there until she had him transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California. During this time, we learned that even though Khloe, 31 and Lamar had signed their divorce papers, they were still legally married, which meant that she was responsible for all of his life choices. Khloe then decided to retract the filing and decided to stay married to the former basketball player despite the fact that she has been dating James Harden for several months and the one time she left Lamar was to head to Texas for Harden’s first basketball game of the season.
Last week, Khloe and a few members of her family as well as some friends of Lamar came to the hospital for an intimate 36th birthday party for the athlete. Later that evening, Khloe departed to celebrate mom Kris’ sixtieth Great Gatsby themed birthday. She was also in attendance at sister Kim’s second baby shower, as she is expecting a boy with husband Kanye West next month. Kim made an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show and had this to say about her brother-in-law: “He’s here and he’s alive, but to say it’s not a long road and to say he’s fully better is not the truth either. He has a lot of work to do and a lot of communication therapy and having to learn to walk again and to talk again. You never know if he’ll ever be the same again. Lamar is family and he’ll always be family, we’ll always do what we can to help take care of him, and protect him, and be there for him. It’s a really unfortunate, sad situation all the way around the board, and I just encourage people to keep on praying because the road is nowhere near over.”
We wish him the best for a speedy recovery and if you want more “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” the new season starts this Sunday on E!.
