Carrie Underwood and Queen Latifah Open SuperBowl XLIV

Carrie Underwood and Queen Latifah, will both open Sunday’s Game with some patriotic tunes. The two singing sensations attended the Super Bowl XLIV Pregame press conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. on Thursday (Feb. 4).
Carrie, the Grammy-award winning artist will sing the national anthem prior to Sunday’s big game between the Colts and the Saints. She is the third straight American Idol alum to get the Super Bowl gig, Jordin Sparks and Jennifer Hudson have sung it previously. The country singer joins an impressive list of performers who have sung The Star Spangled Banner at the game, including Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Whitney Houston, Harry Connick, Jr., Garth Brooks, Natalie Cole, Vanessa Williams, Luther Vandross, Cher, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Dixie Chicks and Beyoncé Knowles.
Carrie Underwood has also announced that she has landed her first movie role in Soul Surfer.
