We need you, our readers, to “Be Part of the Equation” and help One Is Greater Than None sponsor another (RAM) Remote Area Medical Rural America Clinic. The February/March 2010 issue of Long Island Parent has just hit the stands featuring One Is Greater Than None, the Merrick-based teen-founded non-profit on the cover.
Liza Burby, Publisher of Long Island Parent, has declared a “Reader’s Challenge” asking her readers, and we are asking our readers, to donate funds to One Is Greater Than None to sponsor a RAM/Remote Area Medical weekend where 1000+ Americans will receive FREE medical care.
Her goal is to raise at least $3,500. (Just think: If 350 families each donated $10 we’d reach the goal quickly.)
Have U Heard ran into the lovely Christie Brinkley on Saturday, at The Roar For a Cure Carnival in East Hampton, NY. The supermodel, humanitarian and environmentalist, to name a few of her diverse talents and interests, came to the carnival to show her support for the magnificent, Max Cure Foundation.
After attending the event, Ms. Brinkley left to attend another charity benefit in her eco-friendly Prius. Ms. Brinkley is not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well, giving her time and resources to a number of worthy causes.
Have U Heard was invited to attend the Roar For A Cure Carnival to support The Max Cure Foundation on Saturday. My family and I had a wonderful time, no carnival detail was missing. There were rides, clowns, games, delicious food and amazing entertainment.
The Max Cure Foundation was established in 2008. It’s primary goal is to raise $5 million for The Max Cure Fund For Pediatric Cancer Research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to underwrite the establishment of a research laboratory in the Department of Pediatrics.
Max Plotkin and Katy Stewart have both been afflicted with pediatric cancer. They both attended the carnival along with their families, friends and over 1,000 supporters including Christie Brinkley, Push Play and Keli Price.
Push Play, a group of very talented and attractive young men put on a hot performance to an excited crowd at the carnival. The quartet recently signed to Wind-Up Records, the band will release their debut CD Found on Sept. 29, which features the hit single Midnight Romeo.
The sexy, actor, model and muscian, Keli Price also came out on Saturday to support the foundation and put on a great show with some of his orginal songs.
Have U Heard encourages our readers to help a very worthy cause, The Max Cure Foundation reach their goal by visiting MaxCurefoundation.org and making a donation. Thank you!!
