Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have called it quits – for real this time.

Reese and Jake have parted ways but the split was mutual and amicable. They took a short break late last month, got back together but appear to have ended it for good this time.

The twosome has been together since co-starring in the 2007 drama thriller Rendition.

The break-up news was first reported by GossipCop.

Both reps for Reese and Jake say they are very much together.

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have broken up – I think.  People Magazine is reporting that they broke up and EW is reporting that the report is false.  People and EW are both owned by Time Warner.    We will keep you posted – there seems to be some confusion at this point.

Witherspoon, 33, and Gyllenhaal, 28, costarred in the 2007 movie Rendition, after which rumors started flying about them as an off-screen couple.  It wasn’t long after the break up of Witherspoon’s marriage to actor, Ryan Phillipe.

The couple were seen together as recently as last month.  Witherspoon told InStyle,

 ”We spend the weekends outside L.A, in Ojai, where I have a farmhouse. We have chickens and we grow cucumbers and tomatoes. I love it. It reminds me of where I grew up in Tennessee.”

Witherspoon was married for seven years to her Cruel Intentions costar Ryan Phillippe, until their 2006 divorce. They have two children, Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6.

Gyllenhaal’s high-profile roles included those in Brokeback Mountain, which earned him a 2006 Oscar nomination.

Last year, Witherspoon costarred with Vince Vaughn in the holidays Four Christmases, about a couple who all but split due to pressures brought on by their respective families.

The day before while Reese was shopping at Whole Foods, she helped out a fellow mom who had forgotten her money at home.

“Reese knows that kids make you lose your mind. When she spotted a harried mom who had forgotten her wallet she picked up the tab,” says a source. “The woman was so flustered and embarrassed. But Reese said she would gladly take care of the $70 bill and no apology was necessary. She told the mom, ‘I understand, I have kids too!’”.

The Legally Blond actress has two children Ava, 9, and Deacon, 5 with her ex Ryan Phillippe.
During this holiday season, Jake can be seen in a new project designed to teach Jewish-American children about Jewish culture.
Jake, along with Christina Applegate, Debra Messing, Greg Kinnear, and Cedric the Entertainer will star in “Shalom Sesame,” a 12-part series of “Sesame Street” to debut during Hanukkah season in 2010.

Coachella Music Festival took place this weekend in Indio, California.  Besides the musical performances there were also plenty of celebrity sightings.  Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal, Joss Stone, Nicky Hilton and boyfriend, David Katzenberg, Chloe Sevigny and DJ Adam with a lady friend.  Check out the photos below:

Don’t you love when you read an article in a newspaper and you find out later that the article was COMPLETELY wrong.  I mean not even in the same country – wrong.

I probably had an inkling that there wasn’t too much truth to the “rumor” when I wrote Fact or Fiction in the headline.  But still – i do feel a bit HAD!! 

So as it turns out I originally wrote that Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated Thanksgiving in Florida when in fact I saw a photo on another website stating that she celebrated in London with Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal.  They were each spotted leaving a Thanksgiving party thrown by Richard Rogers at his Chelsea home in London.

I didn’t see where Chris Martin was but hopefully he wasn’t too far.  I am still rooting for them!!

Has anyone taken a close look at Jake Gyllenhaal lately?? He is looking extremely hot!!

Jake has been working out non-stop to get in shape “Prince of Persia” the movie he is currently working on.

The actor tells Entertainment Tonite that he gained five pounds of muscle for the physical role, but when he’s done filming,

It’s going to turn into fat, and I’m going to be happy. I over-prepared myself because I never knew how much they were going to ask me to do. “So I just made sure I’d be hopefully able to do anything.”

Somehow – I just can’t picture Jake fat. Happy yes – fat I don’t think so.
