Kate Winslet was seen looking relaxed and beautiful while in Puerto Vallarta with her children.  

The couple – who announced yesterday (3/15/10) that their six-year marriage is over – reportedly split up temporarily in 2009 after a falling out while working together on ‘Revolutionary Road’ with Leonardo DiCaprio in 2008, but reconciled after realizing they were unhappy apart.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Working and living together was incredibly intense and basically overwhelmed their relationship.

“The pair have a very different work ethos – Sam wanted to switch off after a long day and Kate liked to analyze every nuance of her performance. It was just too much.”

After filming ended, Sam flew out to Florida to work on new movie ‘Away We Go’ but, despite their troubles, the couple – who raise two children together, son Joe, six, and Kate’s daughter Mia, nine, from her marriage to Jim Threapleton – struggled to cope with being apart and pledged to spend more time together.

They did commit to spending the year together and working less.  When that didn’t work a seperation ensued.  Despite only confirming their separation yesterday  rumors have surfaced that there were cracks in their marriage since January, which have been denied.

The couple – who have not been seen together in public since last June – are hoping to keep their split amicable and would like to avoid a court battle over custody of Joe and the splitting of their assets.

Kate Winslet and husband, Sam Mendes have split up after six years of marriage.  The couple split earlier this year.

A statement from law firm Schillings said: “Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement.

“Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children. They ask that the media respect their privacy at this time.”

The pair have one child together, six-year-old Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes.

It is the second marriage for Oscar-winner Kate, who wed film assistant Jim Threapleton in 1998 before divorcing in 2001 – the couple had one child, nine-year-old Mia.

The ‘Titanic’ star – who also won the Best Actress and the Best Supporting Actress awards at the Golden Globes in 2009 for her roles in ‘Revolutionary Road’ and ‘The Reader’ respectively – said: “I was in hiding a little bit, just doing family stuff and very little work.

Kate Winslet attended the 2010 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards on Sunday (Feb. 21) at The Royal Opera House in London, England.

The actress looked stunning in a black Stella McCartney dress with a lace waist, as she presented the award for Leading Actor to Colin Firth.

Kate was not up for an award but took home the Leading Actress BAFTA last year.

On Friday night, she hosted a pre-BAFTA cocktail party in London at St Martin’s Lane hotel.

Kate Winslet looked gorgeous as she walked the red carpet at the 2009 Bambi Awards at Metropolis Hall in Potsdam Germany on Thursday (November 26).

Winslet was bestowed a Bambi and bowed down when she received it.   Winslet won a Bambi award for best international actress for her role in the German-made Oscar-winning film “The Reader.”

The Bambi awards are annually given by Hubert Burda Media to recognize excellence in international media and television with vision and creativity who affected and inspired the Germany public.   These awards were first given out in 1948.

Kate Winslet NEVER wears fur!!  Unless of course she is told that it is faux-fur.

Kate  recently did an interview with Vanity Fair where she is laying on a fur rug sans clothes.  She was told the fur she was lounging on was faux, only to learn later it was the real thing – a riling silver fox fur throw.  Her rep told the London Daily Mail,

“There was apparently false fur there and real fur there, and she definitely understood it was false. Kate never wears fur. She’s very, very firm on that.”

Vanity Fair is quoted as saying,

“We thought Miss Winslet was aware of this and we’re sorry for the miscommunication.”

It makes you wonder if Kate will work with Vanity Fair again – 1st the airbrushing incident and now the fur.  What do you think – would you work with Vanity Fair if you were Kate?

The latest photos of Kate Winslet are absolutely gorgeous.  When I first looked at them I thought – Nobody has this body.  It looked wayyyyy to perfect.  Kate is denying any airbrushing took place and is furious at the thought. 

Her rep is quoted as saying, “She is in terrific shape and what you see is how she looks or she would never have agreed to pose for those shots.” 

As a former “fat girl” as Kate so often has reffered to herself – I say she is looking far from fat and maybe even HOT!!  Take a look at the photo – straight from Vanity Fair - what do you think??  Airbrushed or Not??

Airbrushed or Not??

Kate Winslet didn’t always wanted to be famous.  She recently did an interview with Vanity Fair where she was quoted as saying:

“I was fat. I didn’t know any fat famous actresses.  I just did not see myself in that world at all, and I’m being very sincere.”

Kate Winslet refuses to give into the pressure of Hollywood to be skinny.  This has made her a fan favorite.  While she has not given in to the pressure she also stated, “everyone can commit to 20 minutes” of working out, “especially if there’s a glass of Chardonnay afterwards.”

I’m with Kate on this one – 20 minutes seems reasonable and if you don’t like Chardonnay – find something that you do like.  Just make sure its not a piece of cheesecake.
