Alicia Keys surprised fans by bringing out  Beyonce, Jay-Z and her new boyfriend Swizz Beatz at her concert at Madison Square Garden in NYC on Wednesday (March 17) during her Freedom Tour.

Alicia opened the show with some of her old and new tracks before inviting Beyonce on stage to perform a duet of their new single, Put It In A Love Song.

Also joining her on stage at MSG were her rapper boyfriend and Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z who performed Empire State Of Mind.  It was like a double date.

 
On March 3, the 29-year-old musician kicked off the U.S. portion of her The Freedom Tour in Chicago, it runs through April 9th ending in Las Vegas. The European leg of her tour commences in late April.

Beyonce supported hubby Jay-Z at the Barclays Center Groundbreaking Ceremony this Thursday (March 12th) at the Atlantic Yards in New York.

Jay-Z joined politicians and officials for the groundbreaking ceremony for the Barclays Center, it will eventually be the new home of the New Jersey Nets. 

“What I stand here and represent is hope for Brooklyn, New York City. I’m a son of Brooklyn, I’m from Marcy projects,” Jay said. “I think about growing up in Brooklyn in the Marcy projects and shooting jump shots, thinking I can make it to the NBA. Now I stand here as an owner of a team that’s coming back to Brooklyn. The pride in that, and bringing that dream so much closer for people, brings me so much pride I get a little nervous about it. But I’m very happy, very excited about this day. And we did it again, Brooklyn — shout-out to [Notorious] B.I.G.”

If you aren’t playing for the NBA – then owning the team is a great alternative (lol). 

Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s new video Telephone has premiered today.  The nine minute video starts off more like a movie about scantly dressed women prisioners, then a music video.

Beyonce, along with her mom Tina Knowles and Mayor Michael Bloomberg cut the ribbon on Friday(March 5) in Brooklyn, to unveil the Beyonce Cosmetology Center at Phoenix House in New York City.

The Pop icon spent some time at Phoenix House, a residential substance abuse treatment center, when preparing for the role of Etta James in the 2008 film, Cadillac Records.

Beyonce was so moved by the residents’ stories of addicition and recovery that she donated her salary from the movie to Phoenix House.  This year, motivated by their desire to see more programs geared towards women, Beyonce and Tina opened the Cosmetology program.  When Beyonce was growing up her mom owned a hair salon in Houston.

It is wonderful to see people really making an effort to help people less fortunate then themselves.  What are you thoughts on this generous act??

Jay-Z played to a sold-out crowd during his Blueprint 3 tour stop at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, Tuesday night (March 2).  After the concert, Beyonce, wearing a Gucci one-of-a-kind mesh metal halter tank, attended the after-party to celebrate with her rapper husband, held at his NYC 40/40 nightclub. 

Jay-Z will be the subject of a new behind-the-scenes documentary titled NY-Z, which showcases what it truly means for an artist to play at the MSG.  NY-Z , which was produced by Absolut Vodka and directed by Danny Clinch, captures never before seen footage of Jay-Z and John Mayer as they prepare for  their performance during the Answer the Call benefit concert. 

NY-Z will be available on March 22 at Facebook.com/absolut.  In the meantime check out the trail below.

Nominees for the 2010 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards have been revealed. Miley Cyrus has come out as the leader of the nominations with nominations from three different categories; music, movie and television.

Cyrus was nominated for Favorite Song for her single “Party in the U.S.A”, Favorite Female Singer, Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite TV Actress. In both of her music nominations, she will be facing tough competition from Grammy-winning singers Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

Other Kids Choice nominees include Taylor Lautner. Lautner was nominated for Favorite Movie Actor and “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” was nominated for Favorite Movie. Noticeably absent are his two co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.  Neither of the teen icons have been nominated at this year’s Kids’ Choice.

2010 Kids’ Choice Awards will be aired live on Nickelodeon at 8 P.M. on March 27.

Beyonce Knowles looked hot while attending the launch of her fragrance ‘Heat’ at Macy’s Herald Square on February 3, 2010 in New York City.

Beyonce stated,

“If I had one scent that I would leave as my signature, it would be Heat. I hope that everyone is ready to catch the fever!”

What better way to celebrate the debut of a perfume than with a star-studded party complete with a light show.  Held in the original Tiffany’s building, guests came from all over to experience the fragrance up close. 

Among those in attendance were husband Jay-Z, fellow Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams, Usher, and little sister, Solange, (who played double duty as DJ).

Beyonce looked beautiful on the red carpet at the 2010 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on Sunday (January 31) in Los Angeles.   Beyonce was wearing  a hip-hugging Stephane Rolland dress.

Beyonce received 10 nominations this year including “Record of the Year” and “Album of the Year.”  She already won four awards during the pre-telecast ceremony — Best Contemporary R&B Album for I Am . . . Sasha Fierce, Best Traditional R&B Performance for “At Last,” and best female R&B performance for her hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” which also won best R&B song.
