Carrie Underwood has been spending her time in Hawaii working on scenes to her new movie, Soul Surfer.  The multi-talented country singer has a supporting role in the inspirational film about 19-year-old champion surfer Bethany Hamilton, who made headlines when she was attacked by a shark and lost her arm, only to fully recover and return to the sport she loves so much. 

Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, Kevin Sorbo and AnnaSophia Robb will also be starring in Soul Surfer.

Carrie Underwood and Queen Latifah, will both open Sunday’s Game with some patriotic tunes. The two singing sensations attended the Super Bowl XLIV Pregame press conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. on Thursday (Feb. 4).

Carrie, the Grammy-award winning artist will sing the national anthem prior to Sunday’s big game between the Colts and the Saints.  She is the third straight American Idol alum to get the Super Bowl gig, Jordin Sparks and Jennifer Hudson have sung it previously.  The country singer joins an impressive list of performers who have sung The Star Spangled Banner at the game, including Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Whitney Houston, Harry Connick, Jr., Garth Brooks, Natalie Cole, Vanessa Williams, Luther Vandross, Cher, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Dixie Chicks and Beyoncé Knowles.

Carrie Underwood has also announced that she has landed her first movie role in Soul Surfer.

The 2010 Grammy Awards are here!! The 52nd Grammy Awards are being held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center tonight, January 31, 2010.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards featured a special tribute to Michael Jackson by showing never before seen “This Is It”  tour film in 3-D.   In addition performances by Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood and Usher will take place.  Paris and Prince Jackson accepted the Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement award for their late father, Michael Jackson.   

Prince Jackson spoke first and thanked his grandparents and God for watching over them, for the last 7 months.   He also thanked Michael Jackson’s fans and said that his father loved his fans a lot.

He spoke about love, which was the basic message of all of Michael Jackson’s songs, and promised to continue to spread MJ’s message.

Carrie Underwood looked stunning on the red carpet of the 2010 People’s Choice Awards held at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on Wednesday (January 6).

Underwood who  is up for two awards tonight – Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Country Artist won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Country Artist.

Carrie is going to be testing out her acting skills when she makes a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother in an episode airing this March!

Underwood’s gown was by Christian Cota.

Carrie Underwood shows her beach body at The Cove hotel, Bahamas.   The singer relaxed on the lazy river ride and then hit the beach after a performance at the Atlantis.

Carrie Underwood  was wearing a beautiful dress and gorgeous jewels while walking the red carpet for the 2009 AMA Awards.

Carrie was nominated for the Favorite Country Female Artist at the AMAs.  Also nominated are Taylor Swift and Reba McEntire.  Who do you think will win??

Carrie Underwood  looked gorgeous on the red carpet  for CNN Heroes - An All Star Tribute.  Underwood performed an arrangement of ‘Change’ from her best selling album ‘Play On’ for the event.

The broadcast honors the top 10 CNN Heroes of 2009.  Besides Underwood,  Maxwell and Leona Lewis performed, as well. 

All three performances echoed the spirit of the CNN Heroes campaign, which salutes everyday people whose extraordinary accomplishments are making a difference in their communities and beyond.

Presenters included Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Neil Patrick Harris, Pierce Brosnan, Dwayne Johnson, Eva Mendes, Randy Jackson, Greg Kinnear, George Lopez and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

The event, taped before an audience of 3,000 at the Kodak Theatre, premieres on Thanksgiving, November 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the global networks of CNN.

Carrie Underwood is said to be returning to FOX, where it all got started on American Idol, when she headlines a holiday variety special on December 7.

Carrie will perform new music from her upcoming album, “Play On,” as well as previous hits and holiday classics.

Underwood will be joined on stage by special musical guests Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and David Cook – with additional guest stars to be announced.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two-hour show is tentatively titled “Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special.”
