“We Are the World — 25 for Haiti” premiered on Friday night (February 12) during the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Vancouver.

The song features appearances by a number of artists including Janet Jackson, Justin Bieber, Jordin Sparks, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Pink

Justin Bieber sang the opening for the song and there was an update that the original didn’t include -  a heavy rap presence, with Wayne, West, Will.I.Am, T-Pain, Bizzy Bone, Kid Cudi, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Mann, Nipsey Hussle, Busta Rhymes and Swizz Beatz all lending their voices to the track.

An appearance by Michael Jackson in the remake was a pleasant surprise.

The video was shot in 3-D, and green-screen technology will allow viewers at home to place themselves in the chorus.  Lionel Richie spoke at a press conference earlier this month where he revealed that  you “can put yourself into the ‘We Are the World’ family from the computer.”  That sounds like a lot of fun!!

What do you think of the rap part that was added to the “new” version of the song??

All proceeds from “We Are the World” singles and video sales will go to the newly formed charity We Are the World Foundation LLC and will then be distributed to Haiti relief efforts.  Click here  for the official website.

According to Ryan Seacrest, there is a chance that Michael Jackson’s children will perform at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, January 31, 2010.

Seacrest posted to his twitter account,

‘just talked to the exec prod of @thegrammys…hearing MJs kids may sing. Also Mary J & Andrea Bocelli dueting for Haiti.’

Michael Jackson was extremely protective of his children, I can’t imagine him wanting them to perform at the Grammy Awards.  Why would his guardians allow this?  It makes you wonder if money is involved. What do you think??

Since Michael Jackson’s death on June 25 there has been numerous rumors and speculation about the cause. Today, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office report on the death of Michael Jackson has finally been released. The King of Pop’s death was due to lethal levels of the anesthetic propofol and has been classified as homicide.

Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson’s personal physician and the target of the police investigation into the star’s death, was with the him on the day that he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest. Dr. Murray is likely to stand trial for manslaughter after it emerged that he has admitted injecting him with a “cocktail” of sedatives and painkillers.

Michael had the resources to have a personal physician at his side to take care of him, but the doctor did the opposite. What do you think of this new twist in his death?

In this video, Joe Jackson, Michael’s dad, confirms Michael had another son, implying that it is Omer Bhatti. I’m not sure I believe Joe, but Omer definitely looks like Michael Jackson.
What do you think? Do you see a family resemblence?
