Whitney Houston won the very prestigious International Artist Award at the 2009 American Music Awards.  The award has only been given six times prior to Whitney Houston winning the award.  Whitney now shares the award with superstars like Michael Jackson, the Bee Gees and Led Zepplin. 

Presenting the award to Houston was Samuel L. Jackson.    The International Award of Excellence is in recognition of her worldwide success, exemplified by her international record sales, radio air play in countries all over the world, live performances that span the globe and popularity that knows no borders or boundaries.  Wow.  What an honor!!

It is official – Whitney Houston is back (and hopefully here to stay).

Houston was in London where she and Clive Davis premiered songs from her highly-anticipated comeback album, set for release on September 1. They also showed off the cover of the new disc, entitled “I Look to You.” It’s Houston’s first non-Christmas disc since she released “Just Whitney” in 2002.

Whitney also had the pleasure of a private shopping spree in the world’s largest fashion store, Topshop.  The Topshop owner treated Houston to all the clothing and accessories she wanted – completely free of charge.   Houston walked away with armfuls of outfits for her 16-year-old daughter Bobby Kristina.

 I love that celebrities get everything for free when they can afford to pay for the product.  Am I jealous – you bet.  How do you feel about celebrities and the benefits that come with it??
