It appears that fashionista First-Lady, Michelle Obama, accounts for most of the style in the White House.   President Obama admitted that he was a little “frumpy” on an appearance of the Today show.

After answering several questions regarding state policy, host Meredith Vieira posed a funny question about the baggy jeans he sported to toss out the first pitch at the All-Star game last week.

Vieira asked if the President would like to defend his “dad” or “nerd” jeans, as called by some.   President Obama went on to say:

“Up until a few years ago I only had four suits. Michelle used to tease me because they’d get really shiny. I hate to shop, and those jeans are comfortable. And for those of you who want your president to look great in his tight jeans, I’m sorry, I’m not the guy.”

PETA Upset With President Obama Killing A Fly|President Obama

June 18th, 2009 Shari Posted in News, President Barack Obama 2 Comments »

Just when you thought you have heard it all – something comes up that makes you realize there is still a story out there that makes you say, “Are You Kidding Me??”.

On Tuesday, a fly intruded on an interview with President Obama and CNBC correspondent John Harwood at the White House.   Obama swatted a fly and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) caught wind of it.   PETA is not happy with President Obama – so they sent him a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.

“We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals,” PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. “We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.”

Check out the video of the President killing the fly below.

What are your thoughts on PETA making an issue out of killing a fly??

Michelle Obama, the first lady has pronounced her guest appearance on Sesame Street “probably the best thing I’ve done so far” since she and her husband, Barack, moved into the White House.

Meeting staff at the United Nations in New York, she explained:

I’m thrilled to be here but I was just at Sesame Street I’m sorry. And I never thought I’d be on Sesame Street with Elmo and Big Bird, and I was thrilled. I’m still thrilled. I’m on a high.

Obama was on Sesame Street to talk about nutrition and healthy eating.

President Obama Vs. Susan Boyle – What Do U Think??

May 1st, 2009 Shari Posted in News, President Barack Obama, Susan Boyle 1 Comment »

Have U Heard has decided to try something new with our What Do U Think?? Topic.  This is going to give you, “the reader” the opportunity to express your opinion about what people are talking about  and hopefully interact with other readers.  Leave a comment (give it a little time to be posted) and come back to see what people have to say about it.

President Obama was on television on Wednesday night to talk about his ‘100′ days in office.  Since I didn’t get to see the whole thing (complete chaos with the kids) I decided to go on You Tube and watch it.  While on You Tube , I noticed that President Obama has a weekly message on You Tube.  The video had 72,837 views.   I went to Susan Boyle’s video on You Tube and it had 49,334,000 (both are as of May 1, 2009).

Wow!!  What does that say about us as a society??  I know Susan’s video has received worldwide interest – while President Obama has mostly the interest of the people in the U.S.

I know that I too am guilty – of what – I am not sure.   I watched Susan Boyle’s video at least 3 times.  I have yet to be able to sit through  -Obama’s weekly speech.  I feel like I have no control when it comes to the listening to Obama’s speech.  If he says something I don’t like – the best I can do is hit the off button.  While listening to Susan is strictly for entertainment purposes.  No pressure, no worries.

What are your thoughts on this topic??  Did you watch Susan Boyle’s video??  Did you listen to the President speak??
