Dave Letterman welcomes World Series champions, Yankee’s captain Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada and World Series MVP Hideki Matsui on his show for some laughs.  The Yankee players sat down with Dave Thursday (Nov. 5),  the night before their congratulatory ticket tape parade in NYC, after beating the Philadelphia Phillies to win their 27th World Series Championship.

David Letterman publicly apologized to his wife, Regina Lasko, on the David Letterman Show.   He also apologized to his staff for all the scrutiny the show has received since he admitted to having sex with staff members.

“I’m terribly sorry that I put the staff in that position.   Inadvertently, I just wasn’t thinking ahead,” says Letterman, according to the show’s transcript released by his spokesman this afternoon. “And moreover, the staff here has been wonderfully supportive to me, not just through this furor, but through all the years that we’ve been on television and especially all the years here at CBS. So again, my thanks to the staff for, once again, putting up with something stupid I’ve gotten myself involved in.”

As for his wife, Regina, Letterman says,

“she has been horribly hurt by my behavior, and when something happens like that, if you hurt a person and it’s your responsibility, you try to fix it. And at that point, there’s only two things that can happen: either you’re going to make some progress and get it fixed, or you’re going to fall short and perhaps not get it fixed, so let me tell you folks, I got my work cut out for me.”

The show’s guests Steve Martin and Martin Short also joked with Letterman about the news.

Madonna visited David Letterman the other night on his show.
The Material Girl looked great as she discussed A-Rod, marriage and her infamous appearance which she admitted to smoking a joint before come out.

David heard that Madonna never had NY Pizza so they went out for a slice together.

WHAT!!  David Letterman having relations with staff members.  This is one story I would have thought would be fact or fiction.  Unfortunately – it’s fact. 

David Letterman told the audience of his late night talk show that he had sexual relationships with female members of his staff, and added he forked over a bogus $2 million check as part of an extortion plot on the matter.

Letterman told the audience in a matter of fact, comical manner about being blackmailed.   He didn’t tell the audience what he was being blackmailed for until the end of his announcement.  The audience laughed up until the part where he admits that he did have sexual relations with members of his staff to which the audience responded with 10 seconds of silence before clapping.

Worldwide Pants Inc., Letterman’s production company released the following statement,

President Obama continued his media blitz by making an appearance on Late Night with David Letterman last night, September 21, 2009. Here are the Top 10 Reasons he agreed to appear on Late Night with David Letterman.

Obama was listening when Letterman had bantered with a woman in the audience who brought  a potato in the shape of a heart to the show.

Obama told Letterman: “The main reason I’m here? I want to see that heart-shaped potato.”

The woman, Mary Apple, tossed the potato to Letterman agreed to  let Obama keep it.   Said the president: “This is remarkable.”

On a more serious note Obama recycled many of the talking-points he used during his blitz of the Sunday-morning political shows, emphasizing that the economy is improving, that the stimulus package was necessary and a success, that problems remain but “we’re going to come back stronger than before.”

Obama showed that he has a good sense of humor.  What do you think about seeing the President of the US on David Letterman – is this the right place to push his agenda??

Matt Damon was on the David Letterman show last night, Thursday, September 10th to promote his upcoming movie, ‘The Informant’.

Damon confessed that due to a translation problem with a reporter in Italy – he confirmed Brad Pitt’s statement that Pitt would marry Angelia Jolie when George Clooney could marry his boyfriend. Pitt said it as a joke but the reporter took it literally.

Britney Spears appeared on Late Night with David Letterman last night, and she presented the infamous Top 10 List.

The superstar sat on top of a desk in a bikini to deliver the list entitled; Ways The Country Would Be Different If Britney Were President. If you need a good laugh take the time(2:34) to watch the video, I found it very amusing.

Britney resumes her Circus Tour tomorrow.
