
Ellen DeGeneres made her first appearance as a judge on American Idol last night, February 9, 2010. Ellen knows how to lighten things up and straight out of the gate she started with Simon Cowell. This is Cowell’s last season on American Idol. Degeneres said to Cowell,
“So this is it, I come on, you leave.”
DeGeneres set the tone for her first day on ‘American Idol’.
DeGeneres tried to put the nervous singers at ease from the moment she was introduced at Los Angeles’ Kodak Theater,
“When people say, ‘What do you know about music?’ I’ll tell you what I do know: I do know what it’s like to stand on a stage and try to please an entire roomful of people. … That is a hard thing to do.”
DeGeneres definitely added some much needed humor to the judges panel. Here are some of the highlights of the evening:
