Have U Heard??

Ellen DeGeneres made her first appearance as a judge on American Idol last night, February 9, 2010. Ellen knows how to lighten things up and straight out of the gate she started with Simon Cowell. This is Cowell’s last season on American Idol. Degeneres said to Cowell,

“So this is it, I come on, you leave.”

DeGeneres set the tone for her first day on ‘American Idol’.

DeGeneres tried to put the nervous singers at ease from the moment she was introduced at Los Angeles’ Kodak Theater,

“When people say, ‘What do you know about music?’ I’ll tell you what I do know: I do know what it’s like to stand on a stage and try to please an entire roomful of people. … That is a hard thing to do.”

DeGeneres definitely added some much needed humor to the judges panel. Here are some of the highlights of the evening:

The crowd went wild when Superstar Robert Pattinson joined Ellen DeGeneres on her show on Friday(Nov.20). The Twilight heartthrob shared with Ellen some interesting interactions he has had with his fans. One woman gave him her baby and another woman started stripping for him. The adorable 4 Year-Old Hip Hop Dancer Miles Brown visited the Ellen Show this week. The very funny Ellen DeGeneres spoke with the little dancer before he put on a must see performance.

Ellen DeGeneres will replace Paula Abdul as the 4th judge on the 9th season of American Idol.

In a statement released by the show, DeGeneres said, “I’m thrilled to be the new judge on American Idol.  I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”

The 51-year-old comedienne will join the judges table along with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi in January. She is skipping the audition process which is on-going at the moment.

For auditions, Fox has a star-studded line-up for guest judges including Joe Jonas, Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry, Shania Twain, Mary J. Blige, Neil Patrick Harris, Avril Lavigne and Kristin Chenoweth, who will be covering the vacant seat until Ellen takes it in January.

The 7th season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show began on Tuesday and Ellen said during her announcement today that see will not be leaving the show.

“I’m going to have a day job and a night job. The times we’re living… in we’re all doing that. This is so exciting for me. We’ve been dealing with this for the last couple of weeks and I’ve been dying to tell everyone. It’s just been so hard to keep it a secret and we just finally got the ok.”
