I can’t say I am surprised – but so soon!! After only two episodes ‘The Beautiful Life’ has been cancelled.
The CW announced that it was pulling The Beautiful Life starring Mischa Barton off the schedule and that production would cease immediately.
The drama about New York models became the first cancellation of the 2009-10 season. The ratings were terrible and last week’s episode lost roughly 60 percent of its America’s Next Top Model lead-in.

The Beautiful Life premiered tonight, September 16th, 2009. Set in New York City, The Beautiful Life is meant to follow the dramas of high fashion models.
Raina (Sara Paxton) is the up-and-comer who steals the spotlight from the supermodel of the moment, Sonja (Mischa Barton), who has just returned from a mysterious hiatus. Chris (Benjamin Hollingsworth) is the newly discovered fresh face from Iowa trying to adjust to the big city. Cole (Nico Tortorella) is the hotshot male model, while Isaac (Corbin Bleu), a former child model, is struggling to make ends meet.
Raina’s background is a bit of a mystery – the only thing we learned was that her father was being released from jail.
Sonja’s mystery hiatus is later explained by a quick look at her cell phone wallpaper – a shot of Sonja holding a baby – her baby.
The Beautiful Life takes a look at a behind the scenes of what it is like to be a model with the major them being drugs and sex in exchange for work.
The jury is still out on this one. It isn’t love at first viewing but there is hope for the future episodes. I am curious to see the direction the show takes. What did you think??
