Former Nanny Speaks About Michael Jackson – UPDATE

Update:
Grace Rwaramba has released a statement clarifying that she did not pump Michael Jackson’s stomach. Her statement is as follows:
June 30th, 2009
“Michael Jackson was an exceptional Human Being. He was gifted, deeply compassionate and brought joy to the lives of so many. He loved his family dearly, and above all, his beautiful children.
In addition to being my employer over the past 17 years and entrusting the care of his beloved children to me, he was my dear friend. While our friendship had challenges, as do all friendships, he was loyal to the end. I cherish and honor his memory.
I am shocked, hurt and deeply saddened by recent statements the press has attributed to me, in particular, the outrageous and patently false claim that I “routinely pumped his stomach after he had ingested a dangerous combination of drugs”. I don’t even know how to pump a stomach!! In addition, I have never spoken to the Times Online, the original source of the story that has now been picked up worldwide. The statements attributed to me confirm the worst in human tendencies to sensationalize tragedy and smear reputations for profit.
I convey my heartfelt and deepest condolences to Prince, Paris, Blanket and the entire Jackson family. The pain and sorrow I feel over the loss of Michael pales in comparison to what has been taken from them forever.”
- Grace Rwaramba
The nanny, Grace Rwaramba, who cared for Michael Jackson’s three children spoke to The Times of London and told a story of Jackson’s drug use and how broke Jackson really was. Grace said that she routinely pumped out the pop star’s stomach after he’d ingested a dangerous combination of drugs.
“I had to pump his stomach many times. He always mixed so much of it,” Rwaramba said, referring to drugs. “There was one period that it was so bad that I didn’t let the children see him,” she is quoted as saying. “He always ate too little and mixed too much.”
Rwaramba tried to help Michael by contacting his mother Katherine and sister Janet to stage an intervention. The nanny found herself fired by Michael. “He didn’t want to listen,” she says, “that was one of the times he let me go.”
In Jackson’s employ for more than a decade, Rwaramba started as an office assistant to the pop star before becoming a nanny to his three children: Prince, now 12; Paris, 11; and Blanket, 7. She was last fired by Michael in December, and claims that when she visited the children in April, she herself had to buy balloons for Paris’s birthday, because Michael was so broke.
“Michael had no idea about money,” Rwaramba says, citing a $1 million offer he received to appear in Japan. “By the time everyone took their share,” she says, “he ended up with $200,000.”
According to Rwaramba, on Friday, the day after Michael died, his mother Katherine called her from Michael’s house and asked where he kept his cash. “She said, ‘Grace, the children are crying. They are asking about you. They can’t believe that their father died. Grace, you remember Michael used to hide cash at the house. I am here. Where can it be?’ ”
I am sure a lot of information/tell all books will come out about Michael Jackson – isn’t it better just to remember him as ‘The King of Pop’. Do we really need to know EVERYTHING??
