Have U Heard??

On “Invest in Love”,  a young Doogie Houser type patient of Arizona’s, Wallace, has been in the hospital for the past 7 months.   Wallace’s very wealthy parents present Arizona with a hefty birthday gift of a $25 million donation for additional research into their child’s condition.   However the patient’s condition worsens and Arizona doesn’t want to do another surgery since Wallace is not strong enough.  The father (and donor) are insistent that Arizona needs to do the surgery to ”buy Wallace more time.”  Even though it’s only a couple of months.  By performing the surgery – Wallace dies.

Only one week left before Izzie (Katherine Heigl) returns from wherever she went (she doesn’t say),.  Alex is still dealing with the sudden disappearance, not to mention the left-over hospital bills that he must contend with.   Apparently, the fact that they’ve worked in Seattle Grace for the better part of five years is not enough for insurance to cover everything.   April the doctor from Mercy West is still being very nice to Alex.  She admits to having a crush on him??  Why??  He is completely rude and horrible to her at all times.

Alex is dealing with the premature birth of a baby that is going to die.   The mother only wants to make sure that the baby is held before she dies.  Although Alex has been completely arrogant and rude to everyone he shows his soft side when he holds the baby.  Dr. Bailey realizes that by holding the baby like a kangaroo pouch helps the baby’s heart rate.  Dr. Bailey tells Alex to take his shirt off – and boy did he look good.  The baby survives.  

Finally, Cristina (Sandra Oh) is tired of Owen (Kevin McKidd) and actually begins to test her boundaries with him.   This is not the best time for Christina to act out considering that next week Kim Raver is set to appear on Grey’s Anatomy as Owen’s fellow Iraqi War vet, Dr. Teddy Altman, the new cardiothoracic surgeon. Next week, Cristina not only questions Dr. Teddy’s abilities in the OR, she also explores the nature of her past relationship with Owen.

Callie throws a surprise party for Arizona’s birthday.  Arizona runs out because she can’t handle a party.  At the party, the doctor from Mercy West kisses Christina but she tells him no – because she is involved.  Is this going to be a love triangle??  After the party – Arizona returns home and tells Callie that she loves her.

The bigger your investment, the bigger you’re return.  But you have to be willing to take a chance.   Arizona took a chance and lost , Christina took a chance and won – this time.  If you invest wisely the payoff just may surprise you!!
