The newlyweds,  Alex and Izzy, are living in Derek’s trailer.  Alex wakes up to a bear and decides he has had enough.  Alex wants to move but Izzy refuses until she is confronted by a bear.  Then they can’t move fast enough.

Lexi brings Meredith’s father into the hospital and asks Meredith for help.  Meredith’s  responsded by asking Lexi if she picked him up off the floor of a bar.  Ouch!!  Meredith shows nothing but disdain for her father, Thatcher  - and shows it with every one of  her facial expressions.  Meredith’s only concern about the fact that her father needs a liver transplant (from his drinking)  is that he will be in the hospital for months.

Since Meredith’s father is only sober for 90 days he is not eligible for a transplant.  Lexie offers her liver – anything to save her father.  Unfortunately, her liver is not a match.  Lexi even asks Bailey to lie to the donor board and tell them Thatcher has been sober for a year – Bailey flat out tells Lexi NO.  Meredith may be Thatcher’s only hope.  After looking through Meredith’s medical records Lexi realizes that Meredith and her father are a match.  Lexi is desperate and begs Meredith to please do the liver transplant.  Meredith agrees to be her father’s liver donor – but he rejects her offer.  He tells the Chief that he took Meredith’s childhood he can’t take her liver too.  Thatcher put the guilt on the Chief for having an affair with his wife by telling him that the least he could do is take care of his girls.

Meredith finally convinces her father to do the transplant by saying that they will have a chance at a relationship if he does the transplant.

Izzy and Owen operate on a 31 year old man who has cancer and immediately close him up after Owen says there is nothing they can do for him.  Izzy convinces Owen to go back and operate on the man using a different tactic.   The man dies on the table.   Both Izzy and Owen are devastated.

Christina asks the Chief to fire her if he won’t allow her to be a cardiac surgeon.

Torres gets her job back.

This is the Grey’s Anatomy I remember.  Enjoyable and great to watch.  On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this episode a 9.  I’m not sure I will ever be able to give an episode a 10 since last season’s season finale is hard to beat.
