What a  weekend for Jennifer Lopez.   She turned 40 and made sure to celebrate over and over and over again.

Three parties took place over the weekend to celebrate the big 4-0 for Lopez.

The first party took place at midnight on Friday when Lopez celebrated with husband Marc Anthony and the cast and crew of The Back-Up Plan on the flick’s New York City set.

Alex O’Loughlin, Lopez’s co-star on The Back-Up Plan,  made a toast saying,

“Happy birthday. Welcome back, baby! To Jennifer!”

Lopez’s romantic comedy, the Back-Up Plan, is her first film since her twins were born last year.

Lopez had a 2nd birthday party on Friday night and a 3rd party (supposedly a surprise party thrown by hubbie, Marc Anthony) was last night, Saturday, July 25, 2009.

The  3rd party – the most lavish of the three was held at the Edison Ballroom in New York City where Marc Anthony secretly organized a surprise birthday party entitled “An Evening For Lola” – Lola is Marc’s nickname for Jen. Jennifer Lopez was said to have arrived totally surprised and in tears.

Also in attendance were manager, Benny Medina, BFF Leah Remini, mom Guadelupe Lopez, sister Lynda Lopez, singer Ricky Martin, The Back-Up Plan co-star Alex O’Loughlin, Gayle King, Liza Minnelli, Carlos Beltran with wife Jessica Beltran and Alicia Keys. More photos after the Jump!!
