Kristen Stewart Takes Sundance By Storm

Kristen Stewart braved the snow and ice for the Sundance Film Festival.   With two of her films being premiered at the festival a little snow and ice can’t hurt.

Stewart’s, “Runaways” and “Welcome to the Rileys,” are her first films since gaining international, iconic fame with the Twilight series.

In “Welcome to the Rileys” Kristen plays a damaged teen stripping for cash in the seedy back alleys of New Orleans. “The Runaways,” is a rock biopic that has her assuming the role of Joan Jett.

Stewart spoke to MTV News while at Sundance and stated,

“The coolest thing about Sundance is coming back and seeing the people you made the movies with,” she continued, “Everyone on ‘The Runaways,’ we became really close. Me and Dakota [Fanning] are really close. I love that she can see ['Welcome to the Rileys'] with me.”

Stewart is already receiving strong reviews for her role in “Rileys.”

She also told MTV News that the role is the most personal of her career, a transformative experience that has stayed with her long after production wrapped.  More than a year has passed since the shoot, and Stewart still finds it difficult to talk about the role.  She said she had trouble separating her own life from her character’s.

Since the “Twilight” films, Sundance is not as enjoyable as it used to be for Stewart.

I can’t walk up and down Main Street, and walking up and down Main Street is sort of where you see everybody and you see what’s going on,” Stewart said.

I’m looking forward to seeing both of Stewart’s new movies – do you plan on seeing it?  More photos after the jump!!
