I think she did the right thing. People forget that when
they are in situations like these, with a distressed child,
that it is NOT okay to treat them like bad puppies.
If the child doesn’t know what you are punishing them for,
as in they are too young or otherwise mentally incapable,
you shouldn’t be yelling or swatting them. I am completely
against physical abuse, in any way shape or form. Especially
if the child isn’t your son or daughter.
I was recently living with a distant relative of my husband’s,
and while there (living in this woman’s over crowded with junk
home) I had a hard time keeping my 2 year old out of her stuff.
At one point she decided it was okay for her to slap him if
she thought it was necessary. Obviously this isn’t okay, so
we got into an argument about this fact, and she ended up
hitting MY face when I used a curse word, because she tought it
fit to “hit my filthy mouth.”
