The Biggest Loser Recap 10/27/09 Face-Off

The biggest loser Tonight’s episode of The Biggest Loser, the contestants faced-off against the opposing team.  In a very close limbo-like challenge the Blue Team beat the Black Team giving them the power to choice who they would face-off against. Rebecca chose Amanda, Tracey chose Abby, Allen chose Danny, Rudy chose Shay, and Liz chose Daniel.

Derek Jeter came out to inspire the contestants via video.  He talked to the contestants about teamwork before they took part in a baseball challenge.  The  contestants had to pick up 2,535 balls, which happens to be the number of hits Derek made last season.  Then they throw those balls at life-sized posters of the contestants.  Each poster had to get hit 316 times (Derek’s career batting average),  the Black Team won the challenge and the reward, which was a meal cooked by celebrity chef Curtis Stone.  The Black Team was also given a 2-point advantage.

This week had some very emotional scenes.  Jillian was pushing her team to face the demons behind their overeatting.  But Shay and Abby’s heartbreaking stories even softened Jillian.

There was a special guest at the weigh-in, Dane from last season came to see if Rudy would break his Biggest Loser record, lossing 100 pounds in 8 weeks.  Rudy did and set a new record, 101 pounds in 7 weeks, amazing.  I don’t know if anyone is rooting for Tracey but she was the first contestant this season to breach the 200-pound mark.  The Black Team lost the weigh-in and went to elimination.

At elimination, Abby offered herself up for elimination.  She figures she already got the boost she needed to start again.  Shay was shattered, calling Abby her mother figure, but she respected her wishes anyway, and voted for her.  The rest did the same, except for Danny, who voted for Daniel because this is his second time at the ranch and he hasn’t been lossing much weight.

Although upset, Abby left very positive and says she is ready to live and dream again.  She has since lost 80 pounds, and works as a motivational speaker.

Next week, the ranch relocates to Washington, D.C., where they visit the White House kitchen to make salads, before having a weigh-in at the Lincoln Memorial.
Check back in a few days for our interview with Abby.
