The Good Wife Recap – 3/9/2010

The Good Wife begins with Diane and Will ponder how they can save their law firm now that their third partner is gone, they discuss cutting costs and taking on clients, such as a known drug dealer, that they otherwise wouldn’t. By episodes end, they agree to bring someone aboard that they both can agree on to save their sinking ship.
Meanwhile, as they are trying to find a way to save the firm, Will and his team agree to represent an attorney they were planning on joining forces with on another case, when he is arrested of murder. Eric Dorfman had previously represented a drug dealer when a witness on the case was mysteriously murdered. Arrested by federal agents, Dorfman is being accused of releasing the witness’ name to his client, Mr. Bishop, who then had her killed before she could take the stand against him. While all signs point to Dorfman’s involvement, there were carpet fibers on the body that came from the carpet in his office, the group must find out who else had access to the list. After meeting with Bishop and his right hand man, Kalinda and Alicia undercover evidence that was never entered into court. In addition, they get yet another tip from Bishop when he informs Alicia that Rivers was sleeping with the witness so it appears the case is even more personal for him.
While going over the case with their client, Alicia learns that Dorfman’s daughter had access to the list and was in fact the one who released the name to Bishop in order to prove to him that their firm could handle his case. He refuses to use his daughter though to exonerate himself, and feels confident that nothing will happen to her because if it does, he will leak all to Rivers. He asks Alicia to take a message to Bishop. The case winds up being wrapped up when Bishop’s right hand man surrenders and offers up a full confession. Despite having “ gotten the guy” who killed his girlfriend, Rivers is livid with Will, wanting to know what type of deal was made. When it’s apparent he won’t tell, Rivers makes it clear just what he thinks of him when he asks if Will wakes up with fleas.
As all of this is going on, there’s personal trouble on the Florrick homefront. While working with his team on a strategy to handle his retrial, Peter learns from Eli that someone out there is tweeting about him and Alicia, and some of what they’re saying is true. After eliminating Cary as a potential threat, Alicia questions the children when she finds out the IP address is coming from inside the home. Zach denies any involvement, but Grace admits it’s exactly how he and his girlfriend Becca talk. Based on this lead, Eli confronts Becca and instills some fear in the young girl to never tweet about the Florrick’s again.
While some of the information is untrue, such as allegations of Alicia sleeping with her boss for promotion, a cooped up and jealous Peter can’t help but wonder when he finds condoms in his wife’s nightstand. Never confirming or denying whether they’re hers or not, Alicia is angry at his implications and makes it clear he must trust her. The audience is then left to wonder if they really were hers when Zach later goes looking for them as Becca has just told him she is ready. Life in the Florrick home seems to have just gotten more complicated. Stay tuned for next’s week’s episode as the drama unfolds.
