Katy Perry gushed over her fiancé’s ex-wife Miranda Kerr on Saturday at the 20th annual G’Day USA Arts Gala in Los Angeles.

The 38-year-old pop queen was honored to present Kerr with the Excellence in the Arts Award.

The California Gurls singer said during her speech, ‘Many of you may be confused as to why I’m presenting Miranda with this award.

‘It doesn’t fit the ex-wife, new wife narrative. Many in the media would like to see us mud wrestle… but this is about love, and Miranda is love,’ said Perry.

She continued, ‘I’m so grateful for our modern blended family. It’s like I gained another sister, one with whom I usually sidebar from the main family chat and agree with.’

Perry is engaged to Miranda’s ex-husband, Orlando Bloom. The Australian model was previously married to Orlando from 2010 to 2013.

Bloom began dating Perry in 2016, and they became engaged in 2019. Their daughter Daisy was born on August 26, 2020.

The happy couple: Katy and Orlando Bloom began dating in 2016, briefly parting ways in 2017 before resuming their relationship the following year. Their 2019 engagement was followed by the birth of their first child – a daughter named Daisy Dove – in 2020

Before the award was presented, the duo posed up a storm together on the blue carpet. 

Perry looked sensational in a shiny bralette top and matching flowing skirt and styled her black tresses back with bangs framing her face. 

Miranda wowed in a glamorous white strapless dress featured gathering along the front and clinched in at her waist to emphasize her toned physique. 

The Sydney-born model oozed old Hollywood glam with retro waves in her hair and opted for a natural makeup palette of blush and pink lips.

The supermodel was previously married to Hollywood actor Orlando. The pair (pictured in February 2013) welcomed son Flynn in 2011

Kerr previously opened up on the Drew Barrymore Show in November 2020 about how she formed a strong bond with Perry during family events with her 11-year-old son Flynn. 

‘We really do always think of what is the best thing for Flynn, and I just think that’s the most important thing,’ she said.

Miranda shares three-year-old Miles and four-year-old Hart with her husband, billionaire Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel. She also shares 12-year-old son Flynn with her ex-husband Orlando Bloom. 

The Victoria’s Secret Angel and Evan first met at a Louis Vuitton event in 2014 and they got engaged the following year before tying the knot in May 2017.
