Kristen from Have U Heard recently enjoyed the SATC Tour and this is what she had to say about it.

It was a scene that could have been straight out of a “Sex and the City” episode: A group of twenty-something girls stood in front of the Pulitzer Fountain, decked out in sunglasses, scarves, and designer handbags,  chattering about how excited they were about the movie sequel that die hard fans like myself waited two years for. The only thing missing was Carrie being pulled into the Plaza for Big’s engagement party. By the time we board the bus provided by On Location Tours, everyone was ready for shopping, cosmos, and (of course) some Saturday afternoon “Sex“ !

          We headed down Fifth Avenue past Tiffany’s, where Trey bought Charlotte the biggest, most beautiful wedding ring after she proposed to him. A little further down on 42^nd  Street, we saw the infamous library where Big stood up Carrie on their wedding day in the first movie. Our sexpert/tour guide, Amy, had warned us that we were on the HBO version of the tour; ergo, our first stop was the Pleasure Chest in the West Village, where Charlotte bought “The Rabbit”. Next we head to Buddakan, the uber-elegant restaurant where Big and Carrie had their rehearsal dinner in the first movie. I think every girl shed a nostalgic tear when they saw the bar where Big gave Carrie “her last single girl kiss”. On our way over to Soho, we passed by Samantha’s block in the Meatpacking District. W hen we arrived at the Bleecker Street Playground, we were surprised with cupcakes from Billy’s Bakery- the very same place where Miranda and Carrie got cupcakes from in one of the episodes!  The shopping on Bleecker Street was amazing, and I began to emphasize even more with Carrie’s addiction to shopping as I resisted with all my might the urge to buy everything in Alexis Bittar.  Since no weekend afternoon in New York City would be complete without a cocktail, the next stop was O’Neil’s, the site for Steve’s bar, Scout.

    Although most of the scenes in the new movie were filmed in Morroco, we learn that New York does have a few cameos; for instance, the Coffee Shop with the orange sign on the west side of Union Square. By the time we made it past Big’s apartment at the corner of 26^th and Park and reach our final destination across from Bryant Park, I had realized how lucky I was to live in such an incredible city and to have followed in the footsteps of Carrie Bradshaw.  I’m looking forward more than ever to following them on the big screen again; maybe the next tour will include the overseas sites from the sequel!
