A tough recovery. Actor Adam Devine gave Us a health update on his Isn’t It Romantic costar Liam Hemsworth, who is still healing after a bout with kidney stones.
“I texted with him a little bit … poor guy,” Devine, 35, told Us Weekly exclusively at the Isn’t It Romantic premiere at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on Monday, February 11. “I know he’s in a lot of pain and it really sucks what he’s going through, ‘cause I know that he would want to be here and he’s a really fun guy to have around. I’m really bummed about it.”
Hemsworth, 29, missed the premiere because he was at home resting. However, the Hunger Games alum’s wife, Miley Cyrus, attended on his behalf.
“My man’s not well,” the “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer, 26, told Us at the event. “I’m representing for him.”
She also took to Instagram and noted: “So proud of my hunky hubby @liamhemsworth & his newest movie #IsntItRomantic He unfortunately wasn’t able to attend due to health reasons… but he is recovering and taking this time to rest / heal.”
“It’s hard for entertainers to put themselves before the project but this time it was crucial …. I am proud to represent him and his incredible work,” the former Disney Channel star added. “So happy to see him shining in this comedy! He is the funniest person I know , and the world now gets to see the Liam I wake up to every day…. luckiest.”
The Australia native, meanwhile, apologized for missing the event. “Sorry I couldn’t make it to the @isntitromantic premier tonight guys. Been dealing with some pretty annoying health stuff the last couple days,” he noted via Instagram on Monday. “Lucky I have the best girl in the world to represent for me! Thanks for the support babe!”
Rebel Wilson, who stars alongside Hemsworth and Devine in the rom-com, revealed on Sunday, February 10, that the Independence Day: Resurgence actor was hospitalized overnight, but didn’t provide further details. The following day, a source told Us that Hemsworth “was suffering from kidney stones” and therefore missed multiple events, including the 2019 Grammy Awards.
The Hannah Montana alum attended music’s biggest night with her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, and her little sister, Noah Cyrus. Miley performed a moving rendition of “In My Blood” with Shawn Mendes and participated in a star-studded tribute to her godmother, Dolly Parton.
