Queen Elizabeth II dead: Celebrities share touching tributes for late Monarch amid her death at 96

Dozens of celebrities have been are sharing their tributes to Queen Elizabeth II following the announcement of her death on Thursday afternoon at the age of 96.

Buckingham Palace confirmed leaving millions around the world reeling over the tragic loss. It has been said that she was surrounded by her family at the time of her death.

Soon after, emotional messages from Hollywood’s most well-known stars came pouring in – as they honored her many accomplishments and hard work over the last 70 years as a royal. 

Barbara Streisand, 80, with a career spanning over six decades, paid tribute on  Instagram together with a photograph of her meeting the Queen in March 1975.

‘Sad to hear about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. She was a constant for us all. Respected around the world. May she rest in peace. Barbra,’ she wrote. 

Kim Kardashian posted a black and white photograph of Her Majesty posing at Buckingham Palace in 1958 writing simply: ‘Rest in peace.’

Legendary singer Diana Ross, 78, who performed at the sovereign’s Platinum Jubilee in June with a new song written for the occasion, Thank You, echoed similar sentiments following her passing.

‘Thank you to Her Majesty, The Queen. She devoted her life to her country and to the service of others. I am happy I was able to say thank you to Her Majesty at this year’s Platinum Jubilee. With love and condolences to all of her family, we all celebrate her life,’ Ross wrote.

English singer-songwriter Dua Lipa shared a classic black and white photo of the Queen while model Hailey Bieber shared her shock on social media.
