Lauren Graham, 55, teases possible return to Gilmore Girls universe in interview with NewBeauty: ‘I would just want to be sure it was the right time’
Lauren Graham talked about a potential return to Gilmore Girls, beauty tips and teaching the next generation in an interview with NewBeauty.
The 55-year-old actress gave the interview to promote her new memoir, Have I Told You This Already? Stories I Don’t Want to Forget to Remember, which came out on November 15.
During the interview, Graham revealed that a return to her iconic role as Lorelai Gilmore is not out of the question.

‘I’m making plans to see Amy [Sherman-Palladino], the creator of the show, in the next few weeks. It’s always a fun prospect to think about and talk about,’ she said when asked if the show might come back.
‘It used to be more of just talk, but having done it now, we know it’s possible. I think I feel such a responsibility and so much love for the story that I would just want to be sure it was the right time.’
She previously returned to the role in the Netflix limited series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life alongside much of the original cast.
The Evan Almighty star also said she identified more with Lorelai than any other character she has played because of her positive attitude, and added that fans of the show seem to be getting younger and younger.

In terms of fashion from the show, Graham revealed she sees many of Lorelai’s early looks coming back in a vintage chic kind of way and says she can ‘tell time’ based on her hair in the show.
‘Some years, you can tell I needed to cut the time in the chair down and I would just ponytail it. Some years, the hair is way more elaborate,’ she elaborated. ‘That was always…“the issue” is too strong of a term, but it’s safe to say we were always trying to figure out “the hair.”’
The Parenthood actress talked about directing, a relatively new role she’s taken on during the second season of the Mighty Ducks: Game Changer on Disney+, as well as the writing process for her new book.
Graham said she just recently had a long flight where she didn’t have to write through it for the first time in five years.

The ageless star also gave some beauty tips, explaining her upbringing in a home with some Japanese influences informed her healthy lifestyle by encouraging her to get more natural products.

Graham admitted to doing what she called ‘ridiculous’ juice cleanses.
‘They’re so miserable and so terrible; I don’t know why I do them,’ she said. ‘I go to this spa that is all juice. I do find that it gives me a little bit of a reset—even if it’s jarring.’
