Jerry Seinfeld has lauded his wife Jessica for a post denouncing anti-Semitism in a candid new interview.

The Jewish comedy legend, 68, who has been married to Jessica, 51, since 1999, branded his spouse ‘special and fantastic ‘ for sharing a post last month which read; ‘I support my Jewish friends and the Jewish people.’

In the caption she wrote: ‘If you don’t know what to say, you can just say this in your feed.’ Jessica had shared the post in response to Kanye West‘s anti-Semitic Twitter posts – which triggered his career downfall.

Speaking to Today, he said: ‘She found a simple, and I thought, nonaggressive way to say something that, that, unfortunately, needs to be said, but does need to be said.

‘And I thought that was very special and fantastic thing she did.’

The star also discussed the rise of anti-Semitism worldwide and the problems with today’s culture, saying: ‘We’re so quick to inflame. Both sides of any debate. Women, gender — everything, right? This is the culture we live in, flash paper. Instant violent verbiage, right?’

Seinfeld has previously spoken about how he identifies with his Jewish heritage but does not actively practice Judaism.

His iconic sitcom Seinfeld, which ran from 1989-1998, and saw the star play a fictionalized version of himself, saw the character identify as Jewish.

This comes after Jerry poked fun at his longtime friend and fellow comedian Jay Leno on Monday.

The stand-up star shared that Leno – who suffered burns after his steam car erupted into flames in a garage – is doing ‘fine’ at home following a release from a burn unit in Los Angeles.

Adding a bit of humor, the Seinfeld star then joked that 72-year-old Leno having his face burned is not that big of a deal because ‘he wasn’t that much to look at before.’

Of course, Seinfeld was not making a real dig at his friend, said Extra’s Billy Bush.

The conversation about Leno began when Seinfeld told Bush the former late night talk show king was ‘fine.’

When asked about Jay’s ‘healing trajectory,’ Jerry replied, ‘They gotta fix it up, but luckily he’s not far from Beverly Hills. I imagine there are people there that can help him with whatever he needs.’

That is when Jerry joked, ‘He wasn’t that much to look at before.’

Jerry is promoting his new film Unfrosted, about the Pop Tart wars, which he has directed and acts in.

Bush told Seinfeld that he is the ‘best looking 68-year-old I have ever seen.’

Jerry snapped back: ‘That is some showbiz BS if I ever heard it.’

Seinfeld has the new book The Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee Book. The cover shows Eddie Murphy laughing.

‘What a great moment in my comedy life, getting a big laugh outta Eddie Murphy,’ said Jerry.
