Jenna Bush Hager Has 1 Fascinating Theory About Zoë Kravitz And Channing Tatum’s Split
Jenna Bush Hager finds the timing of Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum’s breakup awfully suspicious.
On Wednesday, the “Today With Hoda & Jenna” co-host decided to share why she thinks the couple decided to end their engagement after three years of dating.
“Somebody brought up this point. This is uncuffing season. We’re going to say it right here. This season of October is uncuffing season,” Bush Hager said during the opening of Wednesday’s show.
Cuffing season, at least according to Urban Dictionary, is when people couple-up for the chillier fall and winter months so they can cuddle and make each other hot soup. Uncuffing season tends to be in the summer, in which a couple breaks up so they are free to have sweaty summer flings.
But Bush Hager argues early fall is a more realistic time to cut the romantic cord.
“We’ve got Halloween tomorrow. They don’t need to dress up in matching costumes. We’ve got the election. I got mad at my own husband [Henry Hager] last night because he was planning to early vote without me,” Bush Hager explained. “We’ve got Thanksgiving, where [Tatum] would be sitting with [Zoë’s dad] Lenny in his leather, saying the prayer and such. You know, that’s hard. We’ve got Christmas …with all the presents!”
Bush Hager then looked at the audience and declared: “This is the best day to break up!”
“You make good sense. You make a great argument,” Hoda Kotb said bemused.
Bush Hager clarified that she was just repeating “somebody else’s brilliance” before adding: “They say January is cuffing season ’cause you’re through with the holidays and such. This is uncuffing day, and we understand you, Zoë and Channing.”
Although the news of the celebrity split was confirmed Tuesday, it’s unclear if the couple made the decision to end their engagement in the past couple of days.
The two were seen together at a play in New York City earlier this month, but Kravitz was soon after spotted in public without her engagement ring.
