Nothing to see here! Miley Cyrus avoided a run-in with her ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas at the Isn’t It Romantic premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, February 11.
The “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer “didn’t interact” with the Camp Rock actor, both 26, “at all” during the event, an eyewitness exclusively tells Us Weekly.
Cyrus, who attended the premiere in husband Liam Hemsworth’s place as he recovers from kidney stones, left after walking the pink carpet and didn’t bump into Jonas, who accompanied wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
“Miley didn’t cross paths with Nick or Priyanka all night,” the eyewitness tells Us. “She was off the carpet completely by the time they arrived, so there was no way she would have seen him.”
The Hannah Montana alum and the “Jealous” singer dated from 2006 to late 2007. Cyrus addressed their split in a 2008 interview with Seventeen and seemed hopeful at the time about a possible reconciliation.
“Nick and I loved each other. We still do, but we were in love with each other. For two years he was basically my 24/7. But it was really hard to keep it from people. We were arguing a lot and it really wasn’t fun,” she admitted to the magazine at the time. “Maybe he’ll be my best friend for the rest of my life or maybe I’ll end up marrying Nick Jonas!”
The former Disney stars both got their happy endings — just not together — and ended up marrying within months of each other. The “Chains” crooner wed the Quantico alum, 36, in December 2018, just seven months after Us broke the news of their relationship, while Cyrus married Hemsworth, 29, in December too after dating on and off for nine years.
Chopra Jonas raved about her whirlwind romance with the former Jonas Brothers member while speaking exclusively to Us on Monday. “We haven’t changed [since marrying], strangely, because we’re still navigating being — because we didn’t even date for a long time — we’re navigating getting to know each other,” she explained. “It’s just magical because every day is like a new feeling and a new day and you’re learning something new.”
The former Miss World added that she and her hubby don’t have babies on the brain quite yet. “We both know that’s something that needs to happen, but it’s not something I think about very much,” she noted. We’re both very driven, we love our work, we’re married to our work, and we’re both very supportive of each other’s work, so I’m sure it will happen in an organic way.”
