Faith Hills Father Ted Perry Dies at 88

In loving memory. With a heavy heart, Tim McGraw revealed on Tuesday, February 12, that his father-in-law — Faith Hill’s dad, Ted Perry — has died. He was 88.

“G Pa, Faith’s father passed away last week at 88 yrs old. He was the sweetest, kindest most gentle man I’ve ever known,” the “Just to See You Smile” crooner, 51, wrote on Instagram alongside a tribute video that showed a collage of heartfelt memories that he and Hill, 51, as well as their family shared with the late Perry.

“No man in my life has ever made such an impact on me as to how to be a human, a father and a friend,” McGraw continued in the emotional message. “I’ll never, in 10 lifetimes, be able to live up to his example, but man, he has set a mark that all of us should strive for. His legacy will live on through the 3 beautiful souls he raised, Faith and her brothers, Steve and Wesley.”

The “Humble and Kind” singer concluded: “I’m sure a day will not pass for the rest of my life, that he will not show up in my thoughts. We all love you G Pa.”

According to Perry’s obituary on Legacy.com, he “passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee.” The message notes that the family will honor him in a private burial in Florence, Mississippi.

Perry’s obituary described him as a man who loved “gardening and ‘game night’ at his church, especially playing dominos,” adding, “he loved going to Donna’s Fruit Stand.” The father of three had a lengthy career at Presto Manufacturing before he retired after 37 years.

News of Perry’s death comes a little more than two years after his wife — Hill’s mother, Edna Perry — died at age 80 in October 2016.

“As you may have heard, my mom passed away on Sunday and was laid to rest this morning,” the “There You’ll Be” songstress captioned a photo of Edna on Instagram at the time. “While this is a difficult time for our family, we rejoice in knowing that she is in Heaven and no longer suffering. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers.”

Ted and Edna Perry adopted Hill when she was a baby.
