The singer was admitted into Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Centre on the Caribbean isle of Antigua the very next day, but checked herself out less than 24 hours later.
Britney then entered another residential rehab center Promises in Malibu and, 10 months later, she was put on 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold for five days.
‘It was just a really, really bad time in my life. Like, I was going through so much artificial stuff with my kids and with Kevin [Federline] and all that stuff at the time,’ Spears explained in MTV’s 2008 special Britney: For The Record.
‘He had just left me and I was devastated. I just remember, I did not want to be at home because, like, my babies represented home. And people started thinking I was doing drugs. Some people thought it was, like, me going crazy and stuff like that. People shave their heads all the time, you know?
